Going through the genre catalogs it seems that flight sims don't get a whole lot of love.
Is that because they are more complicated to set up for inclusion? Or, is it because its considered a niche genre?
Please don't take this as another request to push GOG to include more titles in there work load.
It would be nice however if they could include some of the flight sim titles as indicated in the Community Wish List.
Personal Favs:
European Air War
Mig Alley
Battle of Britton
Thank you GOG for:
Red Baron
Freespace
Scartch-out

I'm sure they're working on it if they can.

I have an itch to play Hardwar again.
The only thing you can do at the moment is to vote for said games, then you have to see if GOG manages to strike a deal with the publishers/developers/whoever owns the rights to said games.
You think flight sims are tough, try finding some modern surface naval warfare sims.

But feel free to vote for one if the mood strikes! :)
They did get the whole Falcon series a few months ago, so I won't say gog has forgotten about them.

Oooooh Harpoon and Fleet Command...

We can hope! Harpoon was a HUGE game - can't believe it hasn't found its way here - I can't remember, was that SSI? Maybe now GoG can self publish this stuff. Any idea if there are any roadblocks due to using vessels / speccs from actual Navies?

*edit to add* It took me WAY too long sitting here, plying the depths of my memory for the sim "Scartch-out" ("Which one was that now? I can't remember it...") before I realized I was an idiot ;)

Here's the "Simulation" list: http://www.gog.com/games/simulation##sort=bestselling&page=1

Some of the Microprose flight sims have made it to Steam but not GOG, like F-19 and Knights of the Sky: http://store.steampowered.com/search/?publisher=Retroism

(depending if Steam bothers you or not)

They're sim plea "too niche"!
Get it? Get it? Sim plea too-
*vaudeville hook*
Not trying to push GOG. I'm new here and still in awe at the great job that GOG has done.
Recently downloaded Freespace. Should keep me busy for a bit.
Did find the community wish list and vote for my favs.
Out of all the games I have played, probably its the sims that gave me the most WOW! moments.
EAW-Best dogfight ever...turning on the tail of a bf 109 just above the deck. Wondering why I can't get inside him when I noticed his wheels coming up! First time an ai taught me a trick.
They all have their moments. Sort of miss some of them.
Not bitchen' just wishen'.
My service provider and Steam do not play nice. Don't object to Steam just annoyed that they control so many games that I can no longer play.
Cheers... dinner time.
Hm, If I remember correctly most flight similators were made by Microsoft so it might take some time for those games to get here.

Hm, reading your description again I see you are in more in to fighter simulation then flight sims.

GOG's not exactly short on Flight sims. There's also:

F117A Nighthawk

Enemy Engaged: Apache vs Havoc

Enemy Engaged: Apache vs Hokum

F/A18E Super Hornet

Falcon Collection

Hind

Wings of Prey

Apache Longbow

B-17 Flying Fortress: The Mighty 8th

IL-2 Sturmovik

Nope, the best WOW moment in a flight sim is ejecting out of your plane, bazooka the enemy then landed back to your plane.

Or ejecting out of your plane and fooled the enemy into attacking that, snipe the enemy from air, then landed on the enemy plane and resume flight

Keep in mind that the most difficult part in re-releasing a lot of these old games is to get ahold of the rights to sell them in the first place. Many, many games are stuck in a labyrinthean copyright hell, meaning GOG or a company like Nightdive Studios has to track down and come to an agreement with the actual owners of a given game before they can do anything with it.
Sometimes, various parts of a game may belong to different parties.
Sometimes, no one even knows for sure who owns an IP at all, as is the case with the No One Lives Forever series.

If you look at the "sports" section of GOG, you may notice that another very neglected genre on here is the racing game. That's largely because a majority of racing games feature licensed car models. Since those licenses have long expired, it would be necessary to pay the manufacturers of the cars all over again. That is, if they even agree to renew the license at all.
I wouldn't be surprised if some flight sims suffer from a similar problem.

I hope more of the games you want come here in the future; and I think you should campaign for them. For the time being, I heartily recommend the Wing Commander series and Strike Commander when it comes to space/flight sims (though I'm not sure if Wing Commander even counts as a "sim").

Welcome to GOG. On a humorous note, when I read the thread title, I imagined some kind of forgotten Maxis game.

Heh! Thanks for the links Gnostic.
Not much for arcade type sims but got a kick out of the videos.
Ex pilot, fighter pilot wannabe. Can you tell?
Strictly fixed wing.
Combat Flight Sim 2 was a great sim, but tough in a lot of ways. Enjoyed shooting carrier landings in my Hellcat.
A WW1 mod created by a group called Over Flanders Field was a nice add on for CFS3 though the flight model was not strictly for WW1 aircraft.
IL2 has a great flight model and I really enjoyed combat in the venerable P-40. Unfortunately the friendly ai liked to take down your prey, just when you were about to perform the coup de gras. Wanted to shoot down my own comrads.
EAW still has a very strong on line forum.
I understand the licensing thing InfraSuperman. If they ever got some of the Need For Speed titles on GOG, it might push me to get a dedicated racing wheel.
Never looked at naval surface sims in the past. But may just in the future. Its a great gaming world out there.
Scartch...
