Fairfox: Does \ as a character not work in GOGie forum taglet-waglets? Why?

I hases to ¯|_(ツ)_/¯ up a storm because ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ turns to ¯_(ツ)_/¯. This is very unfortunate on a scale unknown to all. What else does the lack of \ contribute (with a heavy emphasis on "CON") towards? As said, it's almost incalculable in its sheer horror.
I just tested - if you enter ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯ then you end up with ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ as you wanted.

It almost looks more like the processing of escape characters... as if strings were being passed verbatim into API functions... things that make you go, hrmmmm......
