MacArthur: A little comparison : Steamspy says that Stasis sold around 22 000 copies on steam, and probably around 6000 here (or more...), since it's near shovel knight.

This place is truly dominated by point and clickers... huh ?
It sold somewhat more, because Stasis comes in a deluxe version, too.
I haven't bought it yet, if that matters. I was thinking of, but I guess I am still waiting for a GOG sale. I must admit I wouldn't have given the game a second thought without the praise I read here, since the trailer makes it look like a vanilla platformer, but of course a mere video can't convey the gameplay quite well.

I was a bit disgruntled though when I realized that apparently the great Shovel Knight music in the trailer... is just the trailer music, not the actual game music. The actual game apparently has simpler SID-like music, I think? Oh well...
Shame it hasn't done better here, but I'm grateful they've given consumers a choice nonetheless.

You're right. That makes it an even better proportion for adventure game. It's supposedly around 35% for Primordia, between what was sold on GOG and what was sold on steam.
Too bad it didn't sell better here. The game is awesome. If I remember correctly the game came out during a big sale so that probably affected the initial sales.

haydenaurion: Once again i'll add that another reason it probably didn't sell as well here is because hardly anyone knew it was coming to gog until damn near last minute. I didn't find any info about it coming here until about a few days before release. -_-
This is part of the reason why we put as many games as we can in the "Upcoming" tab :)

Also, the game had its premiere during one of our biggest sales of that year so yeah there's that. Still, 12,000 copies is not bad at all considering the circumstances :)

Absolutely understandable. So, could you please put a pre-order for Mafia 3 and Sherlock Holmes: Devil's Daughter in the "upcoming" tab? :p
12,000 copies? Not bad for shovelware ;-P

I've made it a habit to contact the developers directly for a game I know I'll buy. Frustratingly, they don't always answer, so sometimes I'm left guessing. Is it sometimes due to ongoing negotiations or based on sales from other stores (like Starward Rogue)?

I am not sure how I can really answer your question as it's kind of above me soooo forgive me if I sound evasive or something of the sort...

The game was released about 1.5 years before the "Upcoming" tab existed anyway, wasn't it?

That's okay. :-)

Maybe you can pass along that I find it difficult to make decisions about buying certain games on GOG when I can't get any concrete answers. And when I can't get answers, I'll usually buy it from a different store (but not always, I'm fairly patient).

At this point you have to be thinking, $30k minus taxes for one year’s salary
avatar
Barefoot_Monkey: I want a salary like that!
?

You want to make 30k per year? Why?

Fairly low sales and it really shows how massive steam is.
Good. Time for a good promo then :P

To celebrate it crossing a million, we’ll be discounting Shovel Knight at 33% off for a week at various times this month on every store it’s released on (Nintendo Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, Sony PS4, Sony PS3, PlayStation Vita, Steam, GOG, Humble Store, and Amazon Fire TV) . If you haven’t picked it up, now’s the time!
;)
