hedwards: Sometimes it's best to just be grateful that the series stopped filming before they ran out of premise. Nikita is a pretty good example of what happens when a show goes beyond what the premise allows. By that last season I was praying that they'd finally cancel it. Similarly, they kept lowering the quality on Heroes until I was glad they were finished.
That was me and "LOST", really. The first two seasons were amazing, and then it just kept going downhill until I was so sick of it in the final season, and the way they went with it.

It's a really tough call because some series do get canceled too early. Firefly could have gone on for a few more seasons easily, had they done it at the time. Brisco County Jr., could have easily gone at least another season of two.

OTOH, sometimes the people making the shows don't really understand why people are watching them or try to keep them going when it would be better to just let them die.

Brisco County Jr.? That was a while ago. I didn't think anybody saw that one but me. I've been seeing it on DVD at Walmart for next to nothing, and I keep wondering if it's a good or bad idea to pick it up.

It's Bruce Campbell. It's good if just for him! For next to nothing, well worth picking up.
Who the hell is Buffy? :P

I loved that show. I'm a huge Bruce Campbell fan, and that was some of his best work. Seeing how good he's doing with the Evil Dead revival I'd love to see more of Brisco County.
No. The world doesn't need more cutesy-badass.

It's actually quite good. I think the main reason it got canceled was that it was an extremely expensive show to film. But, the writing and the production values were quite good.

IIRC, that one was originally on Fox, which is probably why it got canceled. Fox is quite good at canceling shows too early due to executive incompetence and greed.

I doubt we'll get another Brisco County Jr. as a TV show. I just don't think that he's up to the physical demands of the show. If you watch the commentary on the DVD set, he was working basically 7 days a week through the entire thing between the actual work on the show and the work promoting the show.

But yeah, the Evil Dead and Brisco County Jr. are pretty much what made his reputation. He's done other stuff and been quite good at it, but I think if you bring up his name one off those two roles are probably the first things most people are going to think of.

I see Bruce Campbell attached to a project and I reflexively watch it. He's been rather impressive over the years.

I don't know. Judging by Ash vs Evil Dead he's still up to the challenge. Maybe not a full season of 20+ episodes, but a mini-series of five or six. The bigger problem is Julius Carry not being among the living anymore. It just wouldn't be the same without Lord Bowler.
I'm a huge Buffy fan but I have to admit that the show quality start to deteriorate during the last season, resurrecting it wouldn't work. However I would like to see a reunion episode that bring all the core cast together (Buffy, Willow, Xander and Giles) to mark the two decades since the show ended.
No. Definately not - look how they botched the X-fies. Besides it would be too depressing, watching them all waddling about with their face lifts.
Buffy had a good run.

Bring back Firefly.

This.
Quite a fan of his new ensemble cast as well the Avengers, but he's left them too. I'd be interested to see something new from him next.

Have you seen Jack of All Trades?

and I just have to repeat

NO NO NO NO to more Buffy, Firefly, or anything else Joss Whedon. Firefly fandom needs to DIE DIE DIE DIE. I'm so fucking sick of hearing about it all of the fucking time. It makes me PUKE it is so fucking horrible!

To elaborate:

There is not ONE SINGLE original idea in the entire show. It is all re-hashed forumlated shit I've seen a dozen time in other places done 1000times better in those dozen other places. It has some of the WORST WRITING OF ALL TIME (Orange is the New Black and The Walking Dead are about just as horrible.)

I think I'd rather watch High School Musical or Barney or, I don't know, ANYTHING.
