Even though Joss has overseen the comic continuations, they just aren't the same as live action Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Angel. I'd love to see the original actors reprise their roles but I'd also be okay with following a brand new group of characters in their own corner of the Buffyverse. The world Whedon and company created in 12 seasons of TV is too rich to leave in the dust permanently. With networks and streaming services bringing shows back left and right, now is the perfect time for Mutant Enemy to put down stakes and open the Hellmouth once more. What do you think?

It had a good run and frankly will be remembered in part because it didn't continue longer than the writers had good ideas (the bane of many popular series). No, there should not be another Buffy. It's been done and any continuation would just mar what came before.
I'm not necessarily talking about bringing Buffy back for another season (although I'd be cool with that too), just another series set in that rich universe.

I wouldn't say the universe was all that rich given it was centered around Buffy and the Hellmouth and repetitive vampire and demon killing. The show was about the characters and it had its day. I'd much rather TV and movies would create something new rather than trying to cash in on nostalgia.
Have you seen Angel? A very different show. Some fans believe it eventually surpassed the show it spun off from. Then there's the comics that have explored the past (Tales Of The Slayers / Vampires) and future (Fray) of the Buffyverse sans Buffy Summers. I believe the world Whedon created is a great setting for new stories with new characters who might just cross paths with the original characters occasionally.

I'd rather Joss Whedon not do any TV/movies ever again and got a job outside of the industry; maybe hemming dresses.
I loved the series and I wouldn't say no to a new movie or another spin-off. I don't want another season with the old cast though. It would probably devaluate the comic book seasons which I liked as well (except for the last 10 or 12 issues of season 8 which were really, really bad).
The original cast is scattered to the wind on other shows and movies so getting them all together for an extended period of time to make another season might not be possible, but you could spin off a character or two to anchor a show with mostly new characters. Who wouldn't want to watch a Faith spin-off with Eliza Dushku reprising her role?

That may be a bit harsh, but, yeah, I never quite got the love he gets from nerds the world over. At best he's decent at times and no more.

Have you seen Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel and Firefly? Those are three of the main reasons for the love.

Buffy and Angel were both fantastic shows. While I think it's probably too late to directly continue either of them, a new show in the same universe would be awesome.
Why won't american fiction let things just end? Where is this kind of thirst of more and more continuations and spin off coming from? Besides the $ that is, but I doubt that's Barry's goal here.
Shared universes are all the rage now. Both Buffy and Angel ended, but many of the characters are still kicking around in the Buffyverse. Even if they're not front and center in a new spin-off, the idea that they're out there and could cross paths with the new characters (depending on actor availability) would make me and other fans very happy.

Agreed that at his best he's mediocre, but that most of the time he's awful/unwatchable.

I tried watching Buffy, maybe for like 3 seasons, kept waiting for it to get better, kept wondering to myself why I was watching it.

Firefly is the worst TV show I have ever seen.

Dollhouse had interesting concepts at least, written/executed horribly.

Yup. Okay, I've only seen a few episodes of the first two, but of what I've seen it just made me cringe. As for Firefly, I actually watched the whole thing not too long ago (including the Serenity movie). It was okay, but once again I don't understand the hype it's been getting. I just didn't see anything terribly special about the show.
