I've heard that Tomb Raider 1-2-3 on GOG have issues and require patching and configuring to get running properly, I specifically heard people saying this about the first Tomb Raider which I already own a physical copy of on PC but I don't have 2 & 3, they're on sale right now. For those who have these games on GOG how much of a rigmarole do I have to go through to get them set up and working properly? Are they still worth buying? thanks.
EDIT: I bought the trilogy & The last revelation + Chronicles $6.80AUD overall, not bad. Thanks for all the replies and advices, can't wait to play them! :D

I played the GoG version of TR1 about 6 months ago.

Completed the first few levels fine with no issue.

It uses DOSBox.

GoG pride themselves on getting old games working, so if you do have an issue support will help you get running (or your money back)
They work fine in my experience. The GOG installers install Dosbox too and create link and everything runs smoothly (tested under Linux and Win 10).

I don't know about the Galaxy installers, though, since I avoid using Galaxy. But if you use the offline installers, everything works.
They work fine and they are three of the greatest games ever.

Why are we discussing this?
I actually bought it, since i only played and beaten tomb raider 2 and chronicles before. Though 2 had italian language and there was only one part they were speaking something which i didn't understand, which was given to me from some friend who isn't my friend anymore since he pretty much ignores me after i got sick.
Still have to play the gog version. 2 and chronicles were very good, but i see some forum posts about adding stuff like music and something to tomb raider 1 which i currently don't feel like doing.
Otherwise i believe it should work.

Music isn't going to help Chronicles. :P Next to AoD it really is the low point in the series.
I can guarantee that GOG version has less issues than CD-ROM version. At least, if you happen to buy that CD-ROM version which I have, it comes without audio tracks due to manufacturing error, so you need to actually pirate them to get them!

Even if you need to configure GOG versions, it's probably just as much as you would need to configure those CD-ROM versions.

It wasn't bad, it just seemed rushed, like they needed a new TR game and didn't really have anything so they patched something together. AoE suffers from the same thing IMHO.

#1 is great, but it is older, it shows, and may turn off some people. #2 is the best in the series, including the "rebirth". #3 is a trip. I love it but it has it's problems. I think what bothers me the most about it is that it was advertised as an open world TR where you could plan your own mission progress, choose where to go, but anyone who has played it through knows that really isn't the case.

You want big boobed Brit girls playing Indiana jones- Go for it.

Better than the modern day sjw crap.
If you do then just remember : do Nevada desert first in TR3!

Only if they bring their own whip...
I wonder... am I alone in not liking Tomb Raider? Or at least not liking the first games at the time? Actually, I absolutely hated it, like I did most early 3D games. I mean, it was 1996. I was playing Earthworm Jim and Jazz Jackrabbit and other 2D plafromers like that, and Tomb Raider with it's blocky, jagged polygons looked like the ugliest piece of hell ever to me.
