battlechasers has nicer graphics in my opinion but there's little info out there on legrand legacy, though i appreciate it earnest callback style to the early 2000s.
Well, I bit the bullet and bought Battle Chasers: Nightwar... I don't think it's going to go any lower until perhaps a summer sale, but I might be wrong.
hm..... after careful consideration of both sides of the argument, I think you should buy Superhot.

I'd have to go with Battle Chasers: Nightwar*, though Legrand Legacy does look interesting.

* Slight disclaimer: I may have worked on Nightwar :P

I can vouch for Battle Chasers. Good game based on a good comic. Can't say anything about Legrande Legacy except its title reminds me of Legend of Legaia, a very good and underappreciated PS2 game.
I'd go with Battle Chasers personally... I haven't played either but Battle Chasers is high on my wishlist for when I have money (and time to play it) or it gets a good discount.
I have both games and backed both projects on Kickstarter. They are both excellent games, but they are each hitting different aspects of the JRPG genre. Battle Chasers has standard turn-based combat; Legrand Legacy has turn-based combat as well, but with the addition of button prompts akin to Super Mario RPG or Legend of Dragoon which allow your attacks to deal extra damage while also keeping you engaged in the combat more than the traditional turn-based mechanics in most JRPGs. Both have a priority system that can be used to control the order of battle through the use of Haste or Slow status effects, but Battle Chasers uses it more prominently. Outside of combat, Battle Chasers plays more like a Diablo-light dungeon crawler while Legrand Legacy feels more open like Final Fantasy 8. Battle Chasers has some minor crafting and puzzle-solving elements, while Legrand Legacy has crafting, fishing, and character-recruiting / base-building akin to Suikoden. Legrand Legacy also has some army-vs-army battles in the same vein as Suikoden as well.

All in all, both games are very well made and lots of fun to play if you're a JRPG fan. There really isn't a wrong answer on which one you should buy unless you have a particular preference for dungeon-crawling or base-building. I recommend picking them both up in the long run. While I'm giving somewhat of a non-answer, I hope my comparison helps you to make your own informed decision. One last thing worth noting, if you'd like to "try before you buy" Legrand Legacy does offer a bare-bones alpha demo on Game Jolt. Just be sure to delete the install and start the full game totally clean. Trying to transfer a save from the demo into the full game will give you problems.

You should definitely buy another copy of Oblivion. If you have money left over, you'd be best off spending it on Brussels Sprouts.

That's me. Smooth like straight butter. Legrand sounds like a solid choice, but don't you want to wait for a sale?
