I remember hearing on a stream the GOG boss man say something along the lines of 'we bring games here that we like, as well as games that our community would like'. So, there are plenty of games that the community find to be awful; yet GOG brought them here because they like them first and foremost.

Shitty game made by thieves posing as game devs, based on nothing but a stupid internet meme.

If it is like you described then I have little doubt it should be nuked.
Such game have no place in here and if devs doesn't care at all then they can just sod off.

If the game is broken and more or less unplayable then yes I'd say its better to let the game go than selling it to customers, after all GOG is not Steam and should uphold a certain level of standards, which I think GOG has done.

There should definitely be some kind of contractual requirement to make sure GOG get any updates made to the game, so that GOG can withhold payments if developers are neglecting GOG.

We still don't have it, if I'm not mistaken. They finally gave us an update that shows it as locked content, but the DLC still can't be purchased on GOG despite being released on Steam in April. It seems that The Escapists also suffers from this. The game is here, but the three DLC items are not. It's really discouraging, and I wish GOG could/would do something about it. I'm tired of buying games on here and then feeling like I wasted my money supporting a developer/publisher that treats us like second-class customers.

I don't think anyone would dare to have such a clause in their contract. Not even Humble enforces this. As far as I know DotEmu still hasn't coughed up DRM free versions of Metal Slug. Not like those morons ever do anything other than crap out bad android ports.
And don't get me started on Telltale and their refusal to fix the Sam and Max game.

They definitely should have such a clause though. The fact that games might get stuck with an "unfinished" status is the #1 reason I'm hesitant to buy my games here. I'm very sour about Hand of Fate not getting its updates, in particular.

This sounds like a pretty good idea to me, honestly. The only developers and publishers that it would really affect are the ones that would plan to dump a game here and then abandon it.

I've encountered the problem of Steam exclusive DLCs at HumbleBundle already (Steel Storm) and Steam exclusive multiplayer mode is about everywhere (Brütal Legend, etc...), but there are also Steam exclusive updates? Oh dear...

The devs affected should gtfo anyway since they are hurting our experience and GoG's reputation.

For some developers, they just don't seem to care about customers outside of Steam even if they release a game elsewhere. Cook, Serve, Delicious! is on Humble, but it was abandoned. No updates for it there since June 2014, despite there being a major update and more minor ones since then on Steam. I take some comfort in knowing that the vast majority of games on GOG (and I would hope Humble as well) don't have these kinds of issues, but it's still upsetting that there are even a few that do.
