So, I was browsing the deals, and took a look at the Quake 3 product page, thinking "wasn't this primarily just multiplayer?"

Anyway, the first lines of the description are this: "About: When you buy this game, The Elder Scrolls: Arena and The Elder Scrolls Chapter II: Daggerfall will be added to your GOG.com account for free!"

Is this right?

Pre-post edit: Looks like it is on the lines of every info card for every game in the Shooter bundle.

It's actually for every Bethesda game.

Yeah, all Bethesda come free with Arena and Daggerfall (as they are free games anyway on their own site)

Edit: Heh, ninja'd of course XD

Yes, Quake 3 is essentially an multiplayer arena shooter, but, like the Unreal Tournament games, it does feature various single player options in which you play against bots.

And the "FREE ARENA & DAGGERFALL" thing applies to every Bethesda game in GOG's catalogue. Buy any of their titles, and the first two Elder Scrolls games will appear in your library.
I have no clue why they did it like this instead of simply adding them as free games to the store, but that's Bethesda's logic for you.

EDIT: Ah, damn it.

What if you gift someone a Bethesda title? Do they get Arena and Daggerfall?

Yes.

InfraSuperman: Yes.
Oh, good.
Ah. I didn't know Bethesda owned everything (or anything) in the shooter bundle, so it makes a lot more sense now.

And for good reason!

richlind33: And for good reason!
Because they're great games that everyone should have a chance to play?

Not exactly.

I really liked Arena. Don't care much for the rest of TES. Well, I liked Redguard too, but it's more of a spin-off.

It was HUGE. And very empty. I felt lonely when I played it. :(

Well it was released in 1994... I think it was pretty well populated for the time. :)

I think when it comes to Bethesda, you tend to love them or hate them. Much like Blizzard. To each their own. ;)
