That's what I was trying to remember! I knew it seemed similar to something else, but my brain kept hanging on raita. :)

Interesting, it's almost like sometime during their history all the countries in that area had gigantic quantities of yogurt and cucumbers.

Spaghetti Bolognase Spicy Style

Ingredients:

Ring of Fire Original Hot Sauce - 2 Spoonfuls or more.
Ground Chilis - 1/2 to 1 spoonful
Oregano - 2 spoonfuls
Sugar - one spoonful
Garlic - 1 large clove
White onion - half
Lean Beef - 1pound
Spaghatini

Fry the garlic with the onions on top of the meat. At 3/4 done you should add your sauce with the ingredients. Stir it well and wait till its hot and tangy. Cook the spaghetti as normal. You can use canned tomatoes for the sauce or any Ragu style blend.

Pancake Muffins

Ingredients:

Cooking spray or muffin liners
Pancake mix of any brand
Any kind of fruit or even chocolatechips.
Muffin sheet.

Grease up the cups so the muffins don't stick. Or use muffin liners.
Mix your batter and add your desired fruit into the muffin cups
Add syrup after or just toss it into the mix with the fruit. You can do it either way.
Bake at 350 degrees for 10-15 mins. Stick a knife or something thin into the muffin and pull it out, if its clean its done.

Oh yeah, that's our Hungarian Gulasch, one of them, it's really good! I can recommend it, my grandpa makes an awesome one!

But usually when you do Szegedin Gulasch you start with putting the sauerkraut in and then add sour creme later, not ilke in Maxvorstadt's recipe where it's mentioned at the end. If you google, you'll find easier recipes without the wine (which is how we usually do it).

Simple and very quick chickpea tomato sauce for a pasta dish (serves 1 or 2 - double up ingredients for 3-4). Prep time: less than 10 minutes. Cook time: About 10 minutes

- Loads of garlic I use about 3 quarters of a whole garlic but use less if preferred
- 400g chickpeas (tinned)
- 2 heaped teaspoons of tom puree
- 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon of basil
- 2 heaped teaspoons of oregano
- Ground black pepper
- Salt to taste if preferred
- 2 tablespoons of water

1) Add olive oil and garlic to pan and heat until garlic is sizzling
2) Add tomato puree and mix in until the olive oil is pale red
3) Add chickpeas and a little water until the consistency of the sauce is to your liking.
4) Cook on a low heat for about 4 minutes
5) Add basil, oregano, pepper and salt
6) Stir in and cook for another 5-10 minutes. I like the chickpeas to be on the borderline of soft and mushy.
7) Add a little water if the sauce is too thick for your liking.

In the meantime cook your pasta (penne is my favourite) so it's ready at the same time as the sauce is and add it to the pan with the chickpea sauce. Stir and serve with parmesan (or a vegetarian alternative for us veggies)
