Figured if we have several threads dedicated to music, I'd just go ahead and make one dedicated to stuff like dark electronic, industrial, witch house, goth, trap, ambient, etc. since there doesn't seem to be any threads for it. Basically, music that you'd listen to alone or get comments like "scary" or "halloween music". Or maybe it's depressing, but in a contemplative way that you appreciate. It can be any genre that's appropriate, but I'd highly discourage metal, not because I don't like metal, just that I feel like that's distracting from the intent of the thread. There's already a metal thread, but I'll allow the doomier, gloomier metal. I'll start us off with some songs to get what I'm talking about.

25 Cromwell St. - Apoptygma Berzerk, This is a really dark and disturbing feeling electro song I stumbled across years ago. For those who don't know 25 Cromwell St was the address of Fred and Romsey West a pair of married rapist and serial killers who lured young women into their home sexual tortured, raped and killed them and buried them in their back garden in the cellar or hide them in the walls, some of their own children were victims. They were only court when one of their children told a teacher that his father would frequently threaten kill them and put them "under the patio like your sister".

There are two musics from the band Nightwish that I can absolutely not listen without feeling depressed, Higher Than Hope & Angels Fall First. Besides those, The Poet and the Pendulum & Beauty of the Beast, despite not having such a sad rhythm, may be pretty impactful for those that have an idea how depression feels like.

And more fear/anxiety-inducing musics would be Persona 4's OST "Omen" (specially during the section of the game where it plays) and Final Fantasy X-2's OST "Anxiety".

And there's something rather off-putting in both the Mary Skelter: Nightmares and Mary Skelter 2 versions of the OST "Labyrinth". Perhaps it's the strange speed (too slow in MSN, and too fast in MS2), or the instrumental dissonance, or the instruments having barely no pauses, which some or all may be giving a happy circus music tone on the surface, but with the impression that they're not quite right.

Sadly, night.fm is broken. else I'd say that. :(

Only these sorts of music? I've got a lot of "spooky" or "depressing" songs (musically, lyrically or both) that would otherwise fit the bill, but I don't really listen to much chiefly electronic music. I guess at least that Fever Dream Horror Scene song is in the ballpark of some of the stuff I listen to. Interesting, some of the stuff you call "spooky" and/or "depressing". ;P
