Is buying the base game, and then buying the Deluxe upgrade, equivalent to just buying the Deluxe version?

I'm asking since only the base game is discounted now, so the second option is more than double the first.

Yes it is, but you will be forever tormented by the Deluxe version not showing up as "owned" in the catalog.

Edit: Having said that, it seems that the Deluxe version of Shadow Warrior 2 will be one of the flash sales:

Look out for more sudden bursts of savings with Tropico 5 (-80%), Shadow Warrior 2 Deluxe (-65%), Thimbleweed Park (-30%), Icewind Dale: EE (-80%) and many more popping up throughout the sale!

The Deluxe Version is $50, but the Regular and then the upgrade is only $25. XD

Hmmm... just received an e-mail "Items on your wishlist are discounted: Shadow Warrior 2 Deluxe", but it still shows up as 49.99$. I'm hoping it means it should be on a flash sale soon.
