Yesterday, by scrolling down the steam homepage, I saw that Resident Evil Zero was out as in fact it was released on 16th January in total indifference. From what I gathered, it's the same treatment than for Resident Evil 1 HD Remaster so, mainly improved graphics while keeping the original old-school controls and gameplay. Same price too: 20$/€

It would be great to see them on GOG but It will likely never happen so you have to get there:

inb4 shitstorm/thread getting derailed.
It's been out for a while now, still haven't got round to playing it..... The REmake remaster was overall very good but the graphics were inconsistant, ie not all of the backgrounds were "remastered", some were really pixelated and were obviously pulled straight from the Gamecube version with no changes (the Aqua ring area was very noticeable).

From the screens this remaster seems like they found way more of the source art.
as long as its better then the silent hill hd collection
If it was already a pain in the ass managing the inventory then RE0 made it worse, thank god it never took off... But then again, that old style also died with RE0...

sadly
and new style resident evil sucks ass
Seems Hollywood has infected the gaming world with remake-itis. I'm wondering when religious books will get the same treatment. Every time I read Revelations I get the feeling that it would look better with modern graphics.

Indeed, it's sad because they were in the right track with the first Revelations, you had a full ship to explore with some puzzles in between, it really reminded me of the old style they had... But then they ruinned with a story that no one cares, it's so stupid and cheezy that ruins any immersion that a player could have. It's like Capcom told a awful joke and it's the only one laughing, they really are out of touch...

That, the boring monsters and the stupid mechanic where you have to stop and scan the environment for items...

A general working formula I go with:
Game I already own + "HD" + DRM * £20 != good deal

Boxed dog shit would be better than Silent Hill HD Collection. Probably the most sorry excuse for a re-release I've ever seen.

Team Silent is rolling in its grave.
Wasn't Resident Evil Zero an HD remake of Resident Evil? So it's a HD remake of the HD remake?

Resident Evil Zero was a GameCube exclusive, it's a different game from Resident Evil 1, it uses the same engine as the remake for Resident Evil 1.

Ah, Thanks for clearing that up.

Yep, and I'll add thta it's supposed to be a prequel to RE1. One of its main point was also to use two characters at the same time.
