so i just enabled 2-step login in my gog account. but what if my email account gets hacked? doesn't that mean whoever controls my email account can easily take control of my gog account as well? with no way for me to recover it, even if i get my email back later (because by then, the email adress tied to my gog account has been changed)? some sort of security question would seem alot safer to me. or i am missing something here?

Yes, it's like that. If your e-mail account has fallen into the wrong hands, you can contact support and they'll identify you by other means, e.g. transactions and payment methods, to get you your account back.

If your email account ever get hacked (or you suspect it got hacked), the best idea is to IMMEDIATELY check all other accounts connected to that address and look for suspicous activity and change the credentials anyway (criminals can wait...no way to be sure until something bad happens).
