While it's up to each gifter/donor to set the rules, it's generally frowned upon - just think that someone else may have a genuine interest in playing the game, so coming into a running GA and asking for it just to offer it in your own GA... a bit surprised you don't see the problem and have to ask if it's ethical.

I'm also not sure if you're asking for Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive because you're interested in actually playing it or because you want it for a GA of your own, and think that solving a puzzle or something makes it OK.

You are correct, any game given away should be for the person asking for it or the person they have nominated. These games are not for someone to take and then offer up for trade or to giveaway themselves.

zeogold: I'd like to ask for Desperados, but I dunno, I just don't feel right not having to do something to earn it without being nominated... Could you give me a puzzle or something for it? If not, is it ethical if I ask for a game to add to a prize pool of a giveaway I'm having/will have?

Sorry, I think I mis-stated it. I want it for myself. I was half-joking about the puzzle part, referring to a post I made in a different thread (I can't find it at the moment for some reason). The giveaway part, I wasn't talking about regifting directly like that. To further explain the situation, I have a Steam copy of Desperados, but want a GOG copy instead, thereby keeping the GOG version for myself to play and adding the Steam one to a prize pool for a giveaway of mine. Thing is, I'm not sure whether you guys would consider that a regifting sort of thing or not.

If you are wanting Desperados for yourself on GOG then you can have the game. Any game you have on Steam that is yours is up to you what you want to do with it, it has no bearing on this giveaway if you own a copy of a game on another format. The only stipulation is you can't take a game from this giveaway and trade it or give it away yourself.

Alright, thanks! I just didn't want to seem greedy or a scummer or something like that. I feared the backlash that might've ensued were you people to see me take it, then later see me offer the same game but in a Steam key. I prefer not to be at the pointy end of the pitchforks when there's a minor uproar of any sort.

Thanks again for the game.
Edit: Almost forgot to mention, thanks to Doc0075 for being the one who actually gifted/bought it.

Well well well! That is swell swell swell of you! I guess there comes a point where the after party has gone on long enough and the host politely tries to shooooo everyone remaining out the door and clean up so they can get on with life. I think we're at that point here?! Well done with it all, trentonlf, it looks like the end is in sight, a commendabl effort indeed.

I'll help with cleanup and glady accept the gift!!! I'll also try and help with some extra cleaning and would like to suggest that tinyE go ahead and get Zombie Shooter 2 to complete the set. And as always, thanks very much to Gnostic for donating the game!!!
