I tried to see if said game (the orignal, not the overhyped Avatar 2) has been discussed for release on GOG in some form already, but the search puts me on the "overload" page instead. Possibly it is looking through the posts in places it shouldn't (like the ALT text). Anyone else get that?

There's only one game with "Avatar" in the name on all of GOG, and it would just so happen to be the only one worth playing: Ultima IV: The Quest for the Avatar.
Yes, the library search works, but I am referring to the forum search, I should have been more clear about that. :) Even if it would not find any result, it would say so, instead I get the furry atlas.

Dawnsinger: furry atlas.
I did not know there was a geographic map of that particular kink. O___o

As to your initial question I dont think anybody has bothered to discuss it as an actual topic.

XD
I meant this thing:

As in:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlas_(mythology)

Then that should change, I liked that game (have it on DVD); even though it was probably intended to boost movie sales, it stood on its own feet.

I noticed that it takes some time before the image shows, so I just tried searching in the german forum, where it works normally. Which means that it could indeed be parsing stuff that it shouldn't, but since the german forum likely is much smaller, it works there nontheless, while the english forum chokes it.

I think there's not much interest in that because Avatar is such a weird franchise - it sells phenomenally well but has very little cultural impact. It's the anti-Blade Runner.

You're probably right, since otherwise, I'd not be the first one to encounter this issue. Well, maybe I'm not, but since I can't search, I won't see the other reports, if they exist.
If you're asking about the 2009 game based on the hit 2009 film Avatar, Avatar: The Game, then you're probably out of luck. Licensed adaptations are rarely ever going to get re-releases. Looks like the only way to purchase it are physical copies.
Yes, I was, and I see it's on the Dreamlist with 56 votes. Well, not terribly much interest it seems. :)

Anyway, it looks like the search is having trouble in general, as looking through other large threads like "Newsletter discounts" also consistently puts me on the "service unavailable" page, while it used to reliably work some days ago. What's going on here? Is the gog forum under attack, or is it "just" automated checks on the "Ninja Giveaway" thread that hog half the server resources (how else do they manage to snatch codes the second they're posted)?
