Needless to say, Factorio has received a massive surge in sales and positive reviews because of that. Way to go. Someone finally doesn't bend.

Yeah, I occasionally watch Arch's videos when I want to laugh at the world, like for example the LOTR nonsense that is going on currently.

Okay, I got a summary from a trustworthy source:
- Dev platformed a dude about programming stuff
- User pointed out that programming guy was a notorious transphobe
- Dev replied to user to "Shove that cancel culture bullshit up your ass"
- Dev's post got moderated
- Dev began replying in a very vitrolic, right-wing asshole way to people pointing out that their behavior is being very toxic.
- Dev was revealed after the fact to have long been a member of less than savory subreddits; entire rant seems to have just been an opportunity to unmask.

We can have our opinions, but I for one will not be calling one of Factorio's founders a champion. Oh well.

Refusing to mix politics with something completely unrelated and saying "no" to people making "suggestions" in that regard is absolutely a good stance in my book. The answer could have been a bit less extreme but that's about it. The ensuing witch-hunt with trying to dig up any dirt at all, no matter how old or irrelevant is a standard issue in these cases.

I never could wrap my head around why some people "need" to have those whose media/other products they consume hold the same views as them.

For example: when one goes into a burger joint, does it really matter if the person flipping the patties(or even the whole staff) thinks differently than the customer as long as the food is good & reasonably priced, and they get the same treatment as any other customer?

Me? I buy whatever seems good......those making/selling said products can think whatever they want.

That's the thing though, they DO understand that they have become that, they just don't care. In the mind of your average SJW, everyone who isn't SJW is a fascist, and you can use whatever tactics you like against them. The alt-right have the exact same mentality too. We're entering a new political era where morals and ethics don't matter, all that matters is destroying your opponent. The center is being squeezed out to make way for pure extremism on both left and right.

Not only they dont care ,I bet they like to ruin others lives, that's how evil some people are.

That's the thing: a number of such people don't see themselves as wrong/bad/evil....they actually think they're doing good and/or that their actions are justified.

That said: even with the high price, I am seriously contemplating buying the game just to award another person finally standing up to the cancel culture BS.

And yet for all the freaks trying to get reviewbomb the game on Steam, it's still Overwhelmingly Positive, they barely even put a dent in the ratings.

In what way was he being cancelled? Were his games removed from a store or something? Kind of sounds like he's cancelled himself by taking his ball and going home to be honest.

It's almost cathartic reading some pf their responses.
