CDP knew the game wasn't going to run properly on older consoles long before release, hence the decision to only release PC gameplay.

It's amazing that there are people still willing to pretend that they're a "good guy". And sad.

You're right, if I order an electrical car that was promoted/marketed to go 800km with that battery and a certain price but only got delivered with a 450km battery at the same price, I should just keep quiet and not expect the company that made the promise to fulfill what I actually bought.

Or when I sign a contract with a gardener I shouldn't expect him or her to actually do their job and not over-charge (or kill some of my plants while dancing :D ).

When it comes to refund I decided a long time ago to give them a chance to actually make a mature RPG with deep-branching story, and If not... well, no more money from me to them. :)

That was supposed to be a self-deprecating joke at my intentionally poor advice, but it looks like it backfired.

No, I'm not an apologist for CDPR, but I'm not going to blindly judge a game I've yet to experience or hasn't negatively affected me. I'll be able to judge fairly once the entire game releases - hence my original comment. If you don't ask for a refund, CDPR isn't going to realize that you don't support this launch behaviour. A bit counterintuitive to me if you let them keep your money after betraying all your expectations.

Thanks for being reasonable. I do hope people can dissociate GOG and CDPR even though they have the same parent company. You can still approve while while disapproving the other - they're not mutually exclusive.

Somehow I don't think GOG would put that tag on this particular game....call it a hunch. ;)

I just slightly dislike people calling other people apologists or shills without much in the way of proof....for one thing I find it often seems to not help a conversation much, if at all(I find that it seems to more often than not shut them down).

Nowhere did I say CDPR is a "good guy". You're misrepresenting, slandering, and oversimplifying differing opinions as "sad". In fact, you're the one who initially solicited responses about saying "something nice about Cyberpunk 2077", which is literally what I did. Had I known you intended this topic to be an echo chamber, I wouldn't have added my thoughts.

I quoted the PR response because I wanted to understand if their patching was intrinsically motivated by profit or extrinsically motivated by EU regulations and pending lawsuits. That's a detail worth knowing because the former is a much healthier and productive approach to revitalizing the game. So given the roadmap, its IP significance, and a genuine motivation in improving the game, I have valid reason to believe it will be fixed and completed in 2-3 years. But I'm going to evaluate it then when it's a complete product - not when it's buggy on PC or completely broken on previous gen consoles I don't even own.

That comment was a generalization that wasn't directed at you specifically. I didn't make an assumption about you one way or the other. Sorry I didn't make that clear.

I don't feel I need to wait 2-3 years to evaluate it because when you solicit preorders on the basis of misleading information, you have violated the public trust. The apology was a joke because it didn't acknowledge the intentional misrepresentation, and is a good indication that they'll do it again.

No no, I take this as a friendly banter. kinda like when my gf and I are arguing. Some people take it as an old couple arguing "cutsy" while others thinks the worst of us. :P is sometimes used to show tounge-in-the-cheek, sarcasm. :D

A bit parody on my part. Looking at the Steam forums it really do get hairy sometimes, and there it is usually only about one side vs the other mentality.

Not really in this case (and it's not that simple). They're not going to realize it just because of me, and they already KNEW what they were doing was wrong. Me refunding it won't change any of that. (At least they didn't kill themselves and the game with an insane high price like THQ just did.)

The game is just fine on it's own (a little lackluster in some parts, though), and I'm not going through the hoops of refunding and then perhaps buy it later IF it turns out to be even better... (F.ex. Carmagedon did. Stainless Steel removed the original game, "remastered" it, and then rebranded it.)

I've only pre-ordered twice; this and the failed Descent 4. It's not like I'm going in guns blazing all the time, just for a few select ones. So, I'm going to accept this and leave it at that.

That CDP hack was worse than I thought. Apparently, the hackers got everything, and they're selling the megabundle for $10, so the price of Cyberpunk 2077 should be coming down soon.

They have the cheek to charge 10$ for cyberjunk2077? Who is stupid enough to pay money for it. I would have thought they would try to silently install it as malware.

That includes the Witcher code, so there is definitely some value here. o.O
