Thanks petrell, the devs and GOG!
Cheers, Petrell, for being the catalyst to make this happen on GOG.
Nicely done, Petrell!
Well done.A freebie is worth more than two birds in the bush.
Thank you, Petrell :D

Carradice: Do you have any idea of why is it free? For promoting it or for promoting a sequel?

TheMonkofDestiny: Promoting the then-forthcoming release (exit of Early Access) of their second game, Conflicks - Revolutionary Space Battles.

edit: Actually, disregard that. For some reason I was confusing this having gone free over a year ago and not back in February of this year. I must be thinking of some other similarly named title that was temporarily free.

Tried digging up why they made it free, and aside from news on their own site that was dismissive of a sequel at the time they were working on Conflicks after they'd considered Sang-Froid fully finished, the devs posts on the likes of Steam are mostly cagey in regard to whether they're going to do a sequel to Sang-Froid or even if they're currently working on anything at all.
Thanks for the explanation. I guess that they were not getting much revenue from Sang-Froid and at least want it to become better known, so that the name helps when they promote newer titles.
Nice thats its free, but it makes me angrier I paid for it... Never liked this title myself. It tries to mix a few genres and doesnt do it particularly well. Too bad for me as I really liked the ambiance and start of the story.

That would only work if they had announced new title at the time they made Sang-Froid free. They haven't announced anything as far as I know and haven't even posted on their site, twitter or their facebook page since last year and their last game, Conflicks - Revolutionary Space Battles is already over year and half old.

I don't know. They are not getting anything appart from being talked about, and (possibly, for the makers) the satisfaction of their work reaching more people--novels are to be read, games to be played.

With this game they seemed to have attempted to make something different. I was on the fence when it came out. Now I will give it a good try.

Again, thanks for the heads up and for the information on the devs.
Cant play the game...i get an 'disk access error'

Run the game as admin (right click short cut and click run as admin). You can also set this setting permanent in compatibility settings.
Alternatively (if my assumption that you've installed game in program files folder) uninstall the game and install it outside program files folder (c:\gog games\ or something similar) and see if that helps.
