kai2: Rwarehall's opinions were not at issue...
avatar
sanscript: I call major BS, as you couldn't stand his reasoning based on empirical observation in the first place, and you seem to think that the statistics / other reviewers are his opinions. That's were the whole deja vu started, on post 5.

Same was that damned whining about Grimoire. Don't come here talking about juvenile behavior, you and rjbuffchix are among the worst when it comes to juvenile behavior! When he provided a fact you slashed him with noise. Seriously, you gang-banged him. Any sane person would be pissed.

Only psychopathic trolls would fail to see why he lost it...
My POST 5 response (referenced above):

"The OP simply enjoyed the game (enjoyment is subjective) and wishes it was here on GOG. That's all."

How you read this as "slashing," "gang-banging," or "juvenile" is beyond me.

There are many ways to abuse and harass others, not just openly ;)

I mean, why do you think he removed the spreadsheet? (I'm ending this with a rhetorical question).

Personally I couldn't care less about Rwarehall or his spreadsheet. I was being courteous when I stated that I hoped he'd return. I am not a vindictive person. But I don't really care one way or another.

I do care about bullying... and I do care about people being allowed to enjoy whatever they like without being harassed for it.

I would caution that what you've written sounds very much like a veiled threat.

@kai2 and @GameRager, I would kindly ask that you cease bringing your arguments with RWarehall here. I believe you've said your piece.
I asked a question about the loss of the spreadsheet and that has been answered. If you have something to contribute regarding the spreadsheet discussion I welcome that but please don't use this thread as a further sounding board to argue who was right/wrong in other threads.

I just wanted mine and everyone else's side of the story heard after reading the start of post 5(and wasn't trying to be mean/etc towards that user).....in case you/someone else got the wrong idea on what happened and why....I agree no one should dogpile/etc on anyone else so I will mostly leave it here for now(if someone wants a reply on something I might reply back, etc).

Later everyone

Understood.

Was simply responding to Sanscript (and others) speculation on what led to the spreadsheet's takedown.

Since there seems legitimate interest in using a spreadsheet -- I much prefer online notification-- I would suggest someone else take up the mantle... and keep more than one person as administrator. That way this situation doesn't happen in the future.

(But in all seriousness I don't have the time to do so, most likely.....although it seems like it'd be up some of the more analytical user's alleys :))

What's with all the negativity!? It's like a funeral in here.

tfishell: :-D
That's the spirit! Let's turn that frown upside down! :-)
Regarding spreadsheet and prices' data – I've made some efforts trying to include historical-lows-tracking to my script collecting sales, but RWarehall's spreadsheet had one huge advantage – a lot of manual work. I think it's just impossible to reach that level of precise with any fully automatic tool. So I've given up.

For those who wants similar tool – I recomment GG.Deals. You can import your wishlist and collection, they offer a lot of smart pre-defined filters and they also allow to define and save personal filters, which means you can easily get the same effect as in spreadsheet. As there is also notification system, the service gives you also a choice – to check the deals manualy or to rely on e-mail messages informing you about any interesting discount (e.g. filtered to only % higher then the last one).

If you mean over losing the sales sheets: Some people seem to like being able to bargain hunt with the "leg work" being done for them, and are understandably taking it a bit hard.

Yes, he obviously had a talent for it and put in a ton of work....it's a shame that he left & it is gone now.

(Someone made a good suggestion before about making it a group effort....that might work and lessen each contributor's work load if such was even done again)

Thanks for the tips/alternate app/site to help some who can make use of such.....it is appreciated. :)

What is this spreadsheet? A list of games that are on sale?

Genocide2099: What is this spreadsheet? A list of games that are on sale?
He would list what percentages off each game in a sale had, how they compared with prior sales and ongoing sales, what new sales were all time records, etc & he would post links to it and some basic info for current sales in each sales thread.....he did a lot of useful work for some here.
