Всем привет! У меня такая проблема, не переключается на рубли и из-за этого я не могу сделать покупку в магазине. После установки ГОГ всё было хорошо и я успел купить только одну игру и всё. Так как я пользуюсь услугами QIWI и не могу переключиться на рубли, то и соответственно не могу и купить игру. Может ли эта проблема быть из-за того что я живу в Крыму?

All this is because two reasons:

1. In 90-s there were no games translated in russian language, so i had to learn it to understand what is going on in the game i playing.

2. When back in the 00-s ;) russian companies started to translate games - they did it horribly! For example, in russian JA2 they changed lines for some mercs when they were idle. They inserted lines like: "Nothing is going on, i should check what new games released (name of company which translated game)". They later fixed this, but this was just start.

By the way, the incompetence and horrible level of knowledge of other languages is well known by russians and when they can - they always try to get original english version of the game. Same goes for the movies or books. For example: first AvP movie translation. When predators attack humans for the first time, one of the mercs falls down to the pit and start screaming something like: get me out of here, help me, save me. And now, the glorious russian translation: run away, save yourselves! :) Directly opposite!!!

Well, maybe because in Russia soldiers are heros, and a hero crying for help is not very heroic! :-D

Merc wasn't a hero, more than a bad guy. :) But real reason is that russian translators doing their job not very well. Actually, they below average. It's not that rare when russian fans release fan-made patch which fixes only translation issues. For example, such patches was released for Dragon Age: Origins and Mass Effect 1,2 and 3 games. :)

Oy, sounds like the translators doing really a bad work in Russia. But why? Looks like there are enuff guys in Russia who are able to translate correctly.

Well, there is one big problem with russian business: it wants a 1000% or more profit. So, it's not uncomkon when companies hire for a few dollars students who know few phrases in english like "I'am John Smith", "Hello", "F...k you" and also can count to ten. They start translation with dictionary in hands because they discover that in english text of the game there is so many new, unknown words. After they finish their "work", we got text without any word games, sayings (for example: in english there is a "black sheep" saying, in russian there is a "white raven" :) imagine direct translation :) ) and many other thing that this unfortunate translators was unable to understand. Also, if they wasn't very happy with the company which hired them, they can sabotage translation just for revenge. In the end, we got very strange plots, dialogs and characters. :) And i'm not mentioning time limits when company representative demands translation to bee made in a two days (and one night :) ).

Yeah, sayings can be hard to translate. There are many German sayings, which are nearly impossible to translate:

And so on....
