if you really want to donate and help, then it is difficult to donate to any charites outside Russian borders right now (as you cant get any bank transfers, PayPal does not work, and neither does Visa or Mastercard. I do not know how you would have paied even if Russian customers were not blocked on gOg right now).

However, if you still want to donate, i would recommend Российский Красный Крест (Russian Red Cross). They are staying neutral in this crisis, and do a lot of work - for example giving aid to Ukrainian refugees. As their main head quarter is in Moscow, you can donate directly to them trough normal bank transfers. Any aid you can give them would be very welcome, and to be honest, much more effective than buying any games here.

Unfortunately that may need a change of people as well, as Putin seems to be quite widely loved and supported in Russia... According to polls, 87% of Russians support the "special mission" to Ukraine, and Putin is now more popular than "ever".

Maybe it is a cultural thing, sadly. Too bad for those Russians who don't support Putin, I guess the only option really is to try to flee the country. I know I would.

Yeah, most people just want their "team" to have power. That's why democracy is so precious yet in such a vulnerable state pretty much everywhere.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of idiots in America as elsewhere.

If anything, that proves democracy works in US. The people got Trump when "the majority" wanted a leader like him, and next they chose a completely different leader. Wouldn't happen in Russia (or in various other non-democratic countries).

Same in Finland. A year ago it didn't seem likely at all Finland would ever join NATO and there was only one political party who was for it, but now the nation, both its people and along with its leaders and pretty much all the parties (except the old communist party who obviously still hates anything US, nowadays called "Vasemmistoliitto" ("Left Alliance")), changed its mind and is very likely to send the application to NATO very soon.

Just some months ago our prime minister said it is very unlikely Finland would join NATO during this government... but now even she has completely changed her mind, and is speeding up the process.

Ah, the sweet smell of democracy, where the people actually are in power.

God knows where Ukraine itself will end up, but Putin has absolutely strengthened NATO in general, and pushed the EU to abandon commerce with Russia as fast as possible. Not sure that's the outcome he was really shooting for.
