I fail to see the point in excluding our fellow Russian gamers for choices of their shitty government. Most of them feel probably bad enough already without even having a chance to influence that political situation. I don't like Putin like many others and the war sucks so fuck that but russians and belarussians have been screwed over pretty hard by his invasion, not as bad as ukrainians but still so i don't see this wisdom or agree with suspending sales of games in those countries.

I wouldn't want to be the one to push for change as the headline in theat thread said against an authoritarian where protesting is met with arrests, i kind of wish they would they change their suspension to their own charity or something instead and games could be a decent distraction against all shit thats going on.

I don't think cutting off Russia from Western media is a particularly good idea. It simply builds resentment for the West while allowing Putin's propaganda machine to continue to churn unopposed. We should be flooding Russia with Western media and showing them a different point of view. Instead we are cutting off all lines of communication and isolating them utterly. I suspect that won't work out the way a lot of people think it will.
