Mugiwarah: The emulation of the game in ps3 emulator was almost good, a little adjustement and it was perfect. Rockstar just don't want to make a pc version for a reason only them know
avatar
Cadaver747: Considering Take-Two is going to release Mafia Trilogy they might want to do the same with both RDR games, and if they also add the prequel Red Dead Revolver - OMG!
Take two never said that their games are badly coded to port them to PC and they are already on PC in their original version (Honestly only the first one needs a remaster not for the graphic but the gameplay is too old now)
avatar
MysterD: The only other way I see us getting RDR1 to the PC as is, is if Microsoft officially adds Xbox 360 emulation support and/or Xbox 1 emulation support to Windows 10.

StingingVelvet: I remember Jeff Gerstman asking the head of Xbox about something like that at E3 last year, but he didn't say much. It would be cool to see, though honestly I'm a weirdo who'd probably still ignore it due to lack of mouse control. Either way... I agree it is extremely unlikely unless they remaster it for everything. I guess that isn't too crazy an idea though, so we'll see.
Yeah, I think Jeff asked Phil Spencer (head of Xbox) about if PC would get emulation for old Xbox systems during those awesome Late Night GB E3 After Hours sessions.

I still think a RDR1 Remaster is likely, but it's probably more a matter of when - like during a 10 or 15 year anniversary or something and they re-release it everywhere.

Maybe they will add it on Xcloud one day but yes probably no keyboard or mouse only with controler.

OK. Why are you telling me this? I was reasoning on why they have not released original RDR, not about *bad code*.

Rockstar stuff:
The thing about RDR1 for PC issues was from a Rockstar dev.

You have to remember, Rockstar is not known for good PC ports normally in the first place. Pretty much - GTA3, GTA SA, GTA4 and Bully were atrocious with issues galore upon release.

They were fixed up with patches later though, of course.

GTA5 and Max Payne 3 were great PC versions though - ran well and looked great.

About Mafia series from 2K Czech and Hangar 13:
Mafia 3 still could use some performance boosts. Still not the best running of games. And certainly, M1 could definitely use a Remaster and/or that awesome rumored Remake.

Welp, this turned out true, it's up right now.

No sign of any 'client required' shenanigans either... could this actually be DRM free?

That'd be great, if it is DRM-FREE - for the SP campaign and all.
For keeping the legacy alive!

lol, I'm getting Error 500'ed when opening the Epic Store.

Which means that either a) the rumors were true and they're giving away free GEETEEAY, or b) the rumors were wrong but too many people fell for it and are now killing the servers.

Good show, either way!
So much for "Hasn't everyone who wanted to play it bought it already?" =P Way to DoS your on site, Epic. ;)

Rockstar has their own system, so they don't really need Epic on anything else than providing the download.

It has been confirmed that they are going GTA away free and just as it was expected, giving free something that big is going to crash your servers.

I want my extra copy, just in case it's not protected by DRM stuff.

We all know some games on Epic Store, such as Batman AK - are not protected by DRM over on Epic Store.
Even though, you know, it's still loaded w/ Denuvo on Steam.

It will probably still have the Rockstar Launcher for the online component.

Yes, probably...and unfortunately.
I hope it doesn't have Securom also on it, just for the SP campaign's sake.

WTF, I love Epic now!

I also heard rumors that Witcher 3 will be among their future freebies and I SO hope this to be true! The butthurt meltdown on this forum will be GLORIOUS!

Base-game only?
Or Witcher 3: Complete Edition?
