Tauto: It's not bad but certainly not enough to wet my pants.
It didn't wet my pants but it left skid marks on my underwear.
Fables: Hi everyone, just letting you all know that we've decided to give Kleetus blue font.

He's just so darn irresistible that we couldn't say no to a little colour.

Dtgreene: If you're going to give him blue font at least make him undergo forced gender reassignment surgery so he is gender neutral, that's the only fair way.

Vainamoinen: Don't give him blue font, he's a Nazi sympathiser and a hate monger.

Wouldn't be surprised if he was also a war criminal.

Breja: As long as tiny gets blue font, that's all that really matters; love that guy, love him to bits.

tinyE: Boys have penises and girls have vaginas.

Fronzelrumpelstiltskin: I left the forum yesterday.

Fairfox: Kan u make it purpley fontz inzted?

KiNgBrAdLeY7: I was, blue, once.

That was, when me and, my girlfriend, were together.

Before, she destroyed, my life.

Now, I wish, she were blue, from me, strangling her.

Irony of the fates, I will, saviour that day.

FORUM DRAMA THE MUSICAL

ACT ONE
I read it severeal times, and really, this is some of the greatest poetry I have seen! It's up there with The Hunting of the Snark. Alas, it quickly went from high rated to low, so okay, it did hurt some peoples feelings. That's too bad. When I first read it, I thought that its humor was mild-manered enought to not cause offense. Something that could make us all come together, despite obvious differences. Not so. Still, to me it's an inspirering piece! Even if what we talk about has some importance, it is good to have a bit of laid-back distance, instead of fighting butthurt with butthurt.
No wonder I don't post anymore. Every time I drop by the forum, is all drama and insults and no fun at all. Combined with a decline with my own subjective respect and interest for GOG, it's just not worth it.

Funny you should mention that :D

Pimpmonkey: “Would you fix my rep tomorrow?”
Lin545: “Would you not turn discussion into an LGBT parade.”
Vainamoinen: “Opposing this is Putin's propaganda, mate.”
Nice piece of art! +1! However correction above (which I constantly repeat).

Please stop misinterpreting my words, there is big difference between dislike and hate & dislike and fear & also between irrational dislike and reasoned one.

At least, they've stepped up a bit in the Good Old Games department since the beginning of the year (Pizza Tycoon 1&2, Ignition, Lost Eden, Swat 4, Freddy Pharkas, Caesar 1&2, Laura Bow, Hidden&Dangerous 1&2, Willy Beamish), it feels almost like in the early years of the website and gives us better things to do with our free time ;)

Have they? Well, they might, but nothing released so far really interested me to be honest. Plus, the thing is that before they had those releases Tuesday and Thursday at noon. Every day, right before lunch, I would go to GOG and check every single release or gem sale or whatever. Now, with their erratic schedule, I don't know when the release will be and so I stopped paying attention. Now I just check the homepage once a week for the sales and just glance at releases.

fables22: moderation
Why isn't this being done in a transparent way?

RPG.net is garbage, but at least they're open about their draconian practices:

https://forum.rpg.net/forumdisplay.php?138-Infraction-Forum

Re: the inevitable "we don't have the forum tech": Unless the forum tech is much more limited than is common, it should be possible to create a subforum in which only staff members can post for the purpose of detailing bans and thread locks.

Yeah, it'd require some effort on your part - manually posting about each action - but severe acts of moderation should be rare and treated as a serious matter - taking action against your own customers - deserving of explanation (even if only as much as RPG.net gives).

This will enable us to better see whether or not moderation is biased, and make clear what is actually being moderated on a regular basis.

As it stands, I buy some games I intend to play right away but also spend a few dollars in most sales just to support GOG as a force for DRM-free gaming. I don't plan to boycott, but if GOG abandons its general commitment to open expression, if you go full-on PC police, you can count me out of the forums, and you can bet I'll be scaling back that support and spending a lot less money here.

---

Also, here's a blast from the past, the thread I made when I first chanced across RPG.net's infraction board in some search results.

It is. We have had to move to a different forum for some GOG related coordination, on the invitation of some of GOG staff. So even if it might be possible in the future, it currently isn't.

That's unfortunate. Another item for a long overdue forum software update. :|

Thanks for the heads up.
So will the new rules be coming into effect this quarter? Its important to take the necessary time and all, but I feel like the forum is a country that lacks a constitution in this current state. Granted it is still GOG's forum to run and moderate, it still wouldn't be a bad choice to show us the new rules, seeing how this has become a sort of issue in itself.

We don't lack a constitution - we have a set of rules that are good enough as they stand. The new ones will just replace, or more like update, the existing ones. I really don't see a problem in this. The current rules were in the policies section for ages, and anyone could see them at any time, just like you will be able to with the new ones, once they're up. But they still won't be negotiable - the chance was there for you guys to do so, but there wasn't much co-operation. However, we did take into account some of the sensible, meaningful feedback that I got back then when putting them together for sure.

Yeah its more of a personal feeling I guess. Glad to hear you got something out of the arguments, considering there were two opposing camps. So the new rules will be coming this month? I'm waiting for the new rules as you said that they will be less vague.
