l had Riven installed previously with GOG's installer and it worked fine on the same computer i currently own.
Today i installed GOG Galaxy 1.2.9 and installed Riven plus QT Lite 4.1.0 and it will not load, i have tried restarting the computer to no effect.

Not enough information. Download the files (or get them from your galaxy backup or whatever it is), install the game to a folder outside windows folders, maybe something like c:\Games\Riven. Then run it from there. Does it work then? Do you have all the dependancies installed (i.e. directx, c++ extensions etc.). What messages come up, what happens, what system?

Ah ok, best to contact support then.
Did you install either of them under a restricted folder? Usually it's called Program Files (x86), and it's generally the default install folder.

Riven is not supported on Windows 10. You should either try on a PC without Windows 10 or try an unofficial method like ScummVM:

I installed it using GOG Galaxy 1.2.9, just a normal install.
Before i installed GOG Galaxy 1.2.9 i had it previously installed with the normal GOG downloader and that worked fine on Windows 10.

Maybe there was a Windows update between the two times that you installed the game that broke something? The game also refuses to launch on my Windows 10.

Do you know if GOG will fix the problem?

I don't know that.
