Apparently the push to make galaxy the "downloader" option is continuing.

https://www.gog.com/downloader/listing/the_chronicles_of_riddick_assault_on_dark_athena just leads to a 404 page now.

Also, since when was the game removed from the store?

Either way, that's no good reason to stop letting folk access the DL files via the downloader, a proven way of getting them. Pushing the galaxy thing whilst it's not even completed is wrong.

Surely it isn't that hard to let the downloader continue to use the files? It's not like they have to make them. They already existed!

Yeah yeah, I know they can be downloaded via browser, but one blip & you have to start over, unless an add-on is installed that lets you pause/restart from where it got cut off.

*deep breath*

P.S. If they're going to make some games not available via the gog downloader, the store should state as much.
If I were to pay for TW3 or something, only to find I have to hope for browser down loads, I'd refund it instantly.

I refuse to use Galaxy but I had to give up on the GOG Downloader a while ago.

Thankfully there are good download managers out there.

How come you gave up on the downloader?

Yeah, there are loads of DL managers, used one in the past & oddly, I only ever need it when trying to DL via this site.

We're a minority ever since The Witcher 3 hit release. Nobody cares about our non-Galaxy woes, mate.

Yeah, there are loads of DL managers, used one in the past & oddly, I only ever need it when trying to DL via this site.

It got less dependable. For a while there were a few games that would show downloaded but nothing was actually downloaded or it would say downloading but it stayed at 0%.

Some of these bugs got fixed but then came the problems of some DLCS. A lot of those don't have GOG Downloader links. It wasn't one particular game or instance, it was a steady conflagration of them that made me realize it just wasn't worth it.

Guess I got lucky there, never had that problem.

Oddly enough, I was contemplating getting TW3 this weekend, but I think I can wait a lot longer now. Saves me some HDD space hehe.

Too late, already played first & second.
Shall keep peepers open on off chance we get the books at some point.

You can safely leave your rock crawl space ;p

Turns out it was two days ago the game got removed.

That was kept quiet...
