BlackDawn: RAM usage is insane too, 5-8 tabs need more than the entire OS.
That just sounds like a tab or two are doing things they needn't.

Firefox has been a nice piece of software in the past, let it die, mourn it, let it rest in peace. Keep your fond memories of it and move on.
Former Firefox users, switch to Pale Moon / Waterfox instead.

I switched to Firefox 52 ESR, but many people don't seem to know about this extended version, addon devs included, so some extensions stopped being compatible with it.
I read that Pale Moon and Waterfox are tiny projects based on old code, so I don't expect much security or compatibility with them, despite the good intentions.

I'm angry at Mozilla for what they did to our poor Firefox :'(

Chrome does this much better, especially on Youtube ads. Just install ublock origin, and ublock AdblockPlus. Then download a bunch of selected filters. Never see a ad on Youtube, or anywhere, to be honest.

Does Waterfox or Pale Moon, contain telemetry ?
This was one of my reasons for moving to Chrome, Mozilla seemed so brazen about Telemetry " It's there to give you a better experience", Yeah right. Of course it is.

Huh? Where did you get that from? Both projects are actively maintained. And Pale Moon seems to take security, privacy at least, more seriously than Firefox.

Not Pale Moon. An important reason of why I switched to them is they take privacy seriously.

They're also against silent updates for example. It's a small thing, but it's a big plus for me because it shows the kind of philosphy they follow. Silent updates (and no ability to switch them off) are a big no-no for me.

Th thought that on Chrome you had to ahve an account or buy the plugins or some such nonesesne.
