Before I begin, let me point out that I am in no way, shape or form a religious person. I was raised by atheist parents and they decided to let us children chose what we wanted when we were old enough to understand.

Now that we got that out of the way, I still think Richard Dawkins is a fucking idiot.
I can respect people with different religions and cultures as long as they don't try to force it upon me or use it as reason to harm others. Richard on the other hand, doesn't respect at all. There are thousands upon thousands of videos with him on Youtube with titles that says how he "pwns" christians etc etc. And of course, the comment sections of these videos are full of trolls.

TL;DR version: As long as it doesn't affect you, fuck off. If it DO affects you, then do something.
But sitting in a chair and bitching with people who are religious, trying to make them look like idiots and trying to take away what they believe, that's just an asshole thing to do.
Being a troll doesn't make one an idiot. Do you argue with what he's saying or with him being abrasive?

Anyway, can you point out to some of these YouTube videos? Just googling his name didn't come up with immediate titles to the effect you mentioned.

Bullshit. It's a very good idea for people to care about others, even if they're not personally affected. If you believe some people are hurting others, it's a good idea to do something about it.
I thought he was great in 'Hogan's Heroes'.
This is a cool blog post.

I personally loved his version of Family Feud.
Who the fuck is this Richard Dawkins anyway ?

Thank you for getting that. XD
Maybe his father was a reverend or something.

In my country there are some serious biblebelt regions and often children of the more orthodox parents become the greatest atheists because they have some axe to grind, it's mostly caused by human nature though, comes free with life.

There are a few things to note about Richard Dawkins:

First, as a biologist and explainer of biology, he is quite smart. In particular, his books on biology and evolution are worth reading.

Second, in terms of religion, I see that he does have a valid point, that religion has caused harm over the years. On the other hand, I think "but not all religious people" is, to some degree, a valid counter-argument.

On the other hand, he does have some other views and attitudes I have a serious problem with. Specifically:

Sexism:
http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2014/sep/18/richard-dawkins-sexist-atheists-bad-name
(In particular, I see some mention of victim blaming in this article.)

Transphobia:
http://planettransgender.com/richard-dawkins-insults-transgender-community/
(Basically, he supports hate speech and denies the womanhood of trans women.)

(Side note about grammar: Strictly speaing, the sentence starting with "on the other hand" shouldn't end with a preposition, but isn't "with which I have a serious problem" more cumbersome than what I wrote above?)
I didn't know him, thanks XD
Btw, he seems quite mild overall in his anti-religion arguments, so far.

Have you actually looked where many of these videos were taken? Dawkins is either invited to debates or challenged by his critics, he organises seminars or classes and he interviews (sometimes very influential) people as part of a documentary programme to illustrate the problem he criticises. In my opinion, you can have your beliefs and live your life accordingly. But as soon as you open your mouth about it, take on arguments or attempt to teach or confuse people with them then you are also open to being criticised. I've seen several of these videos too and I find Dawkins very civil most of time. I have great respect for Dawkins and that he continuous to challenge people. When he has to argue, in 2015, with people in the Western world who don't accept evolution as a fact, there is something seriously wrong. Some of these videos I saw, of politicians and children in private, religious schools, it made my jaw drop.

It's really a shame that he isn't as enlightened in other areas.

Come on, you could have taken 10 seconds and do a web search. He is a biologist and the author of several provocative books that challenge religion, most famously The God Delusion.

My own beliefs are immune to question.

Fun Fact: The German dub of Hogan's Heroes gave his character a stutter.
