Crosmando: I just don't see how a developer known for "realistic historical simulations" decided on putting literal magic into this game
Please explain. What magic exists in this game?

trusteft: So, how does this game at its current state (not with the usual 1000+ DLC) compare to Europa Universalis Rome?

Thanks. There is also another link showing the full map. The extra size of the map makes it almost good enough to purchase. If it was all the way up to Japan/Mongolia, I would buy this right now.

You have a special religion resource, you can spend it to invoke the blessing of a specific god, giving your nation a temporary buff.
(fondly remember the good old days playing Medieval: Total War.)

Is that the Omens thing? I see it more like performing ceremonies to inspire your people, than actual divine intervention.

That being said, magic has been canon for years in Crusader Kings II, although it can be disabled at the beginning of the gane.

falloutttt: Salve Imperators!

Yesterday, GOG staff has added the fallowing information about this game to the store page:

Multiplayer Notice: Please note that the GOG Galaxy Client and Paradox Account are required to access Multiplayer

Multiplayer is available only between GOG.com users.

ussnorway: if you pay for the game on gog then you get a key to unlock the Paradox launcher... you still need a free Paradox account but you can download and play with the Paradox game version so gog staff are wrong about needing Galaxy... I assume they must be thinkng about gog stand alone downloads when they say you need Galaxy but I have not tested that senario

the current state of multi is; Steam versions of the game don't work against Gog versions because Paradox is looking into building their own back end server... unlike Stellaris which uses the Steam test server
Thank you, Sir!
Even if I agree with all the post criticizing the OP, I would avoid mocking it too much, because the last thing we want is to scare away publishers from Gog, expecially nowadays after the financial news and the Epic store.. :\

Oh, I'm with you, lil kitty. I still play it today. Also the good old Rome total war as well.

Actually this was my first thought, hoping for something like Rome total war, when I was reading the original announcement. Unfortunately all the total war games are missing on GOG.

Yeah, and that sucks! :/ Both games are quite good and quite old, therefor should both be here on GOG.
"Professional reviews" of video games are as useless & insidious as the mainstream media. In almost all cases, they are fake news pushing their own agenda.

In terms the big PC game review sites/magazines, that agenda is to shill for every game to the maximum extent possible, so that they maintain their good relationships with big publishers and thus keep their (meaning the *cough*advertorial*cough* review publications') financial gravy train
rolling.
