Shill websites dependant on advertisement money heap praise on game in very likely paid-for (either directly or indirectly) advertorials... The newsworthiness of this is somewhat questionable, but you know what they say: There's one born every minute - so I'm not going to blame you for trying.

Personally, I put more trust into the user scores and those are shaping up to be distinctly avarage: The 5.6 Metacritic score, the 44% (and dropping) Steam score or the 3.6 verified users average on gog.

Is this the denial topic? "The game isn't very good but look, these guys said it is!"

"Professional reviews" for a lack of a better word=ignore, i'm just not impressed and the complete experience arrives over the coming years.

tbh i trust my dog more when it comes to decide which games to buy.

A win-win-relationship. The gaming portals need content to lure users to their ad-contaminated websites, the publishers need promotion.
While this game isn't garnering the most positive feedback, it's far from the worst game in its category. From hype to what fans have come to expect from Paradox, and some people who may have been misled due to their own thoughts on what the game would be, there is a lot of bias in the reviews.

The average critic review, out of 16, is 81, which is better than even a lot of AAA games coming out these days (i.e., Anthem, Fallout 76, Day's Gone, etc.). The average user/gamer review on Metacritic is 5.6 out of 10, which goes to show how extreme gamers are compared to critics, the latter of which have to weigh in on where the title sits in the industry today and it's respective categories; what it brings to the table, what it does right, and what it does wrong.

If anyone hates the game now, that's their own choice based on what they wanted out of it and didn't get. But no one should be review bombing it simply because it's not their type of game, as that's not a fairly weighed in review more than just one-sided rants. And if someone has some legitimate frustrations, I can guarantee you this game will get some good patches and hot fixes, and probably some DLC or expansions. I personally will purchase it when I can afford it.

Marketing can always be better though for any title, with transparency as to what the game is, and what it's not. That's becoming a serious problem as many consumers are feeling misled, which leads to some bad reviews. That's still not fair, but it's what happens when people didn't get what they expected.

Of course it's on the person if they like or don't like a game that the review as that is what a review is for. However, your argument of censoring them because they don't have the same opinion of you on the game (ie: "no one should be review bombing... as that's not a fairly weighed in review more than just one-sided rants.") is a bit hypocritical. People are not liking this game and they are expressing their displeasure of it. It's on the people who like the game to post their reviews instead of staying silent.

Paid advertisement ?

I wish i could downvote the OP .
They mess it up ... again, Paradox makes now just make mediocre games (if) to have a platform for more dlcs. My hope is Field of Glory: Empires.

How about user reviews highlights instead?
Day tick stuttering keeps me from playing. Wish I could return it, but bought it elsewhere. Those quotes are shameless lol

Paradox is having a blast insulting people who once loved their games (a.k.a. customers) so maybe GOG thought "Hey, why should THEY have all the fun!?" and created this news article.
Load of bollox!
all those review sites prolly paid by paradox to say the game is good, i mean who the fuck takes IGN seriously lol
