Why players who don't own a game can write a review?

sofadets: Why players who don't own a game can write a review?
I reviewed a few games I own on disc.

People own games on other platforms too or on disc.

Just because someone does not own the game on gog does not mean they should not be allowed to write a review for it. It is not logical to take away their ability to write reviews on gog.com.

Because otherwise Steam would have no reviews at all.

Not disagreeing with you but there are folks here who feel you should own a GoG copy of a game to be able to post a review for it.

Example:

https://www.gog.com/wishlist/site/option_to_read_only_reviews_about_constumers_that_actually_own_the_game_on_gog

This isn't the first time this topic has come up.

Maybe a better idea would be like how Amazon does it where if the reviewer has purchased the game here, mark their review to show that.

You can't post reviews on Steam for games you don't own on there.

I was making a joke that nobody "owns" games on Steam...

It's no joke but a sad truth

A solution to this very conundrum is proposed by yours truly right here.
Along with about 20 or so other points BKGaming has presented to Gog admin.
Hopefully his efforts will not be in vain.
^What's that all about?

Troll or google translate has a glitch.

EDIT: Well they've removed post 11 on this thread so now none of this makes sense.

Some places allow anyone to review a game, but the review has a notification at the top which says if the writer actually owns the game from that site.

It wouldn't be perfect but it would be a nice touch,

You only have to look at metacritic to see how it can go wrong.
