Skrybe: I appreciate that people are trying to offer suggestions to help the sim sickness but trust me after more than 20 years of suffering from simulation sickness experienced over literally dozens of games I have tried *everything*. I'm not concerned with trying to resolve it because I know it's not going to happen. I spent more than three months on Half-life 2 alone trying to come up with a "fix" for sim sickness.

I always try to play the demo if one is released. Unfortunately that doesn't happen as often these days. I might just go with the video play through idea. It's bad enough I get it watching someone else play (that happened watching friends play Left 4 Dead). So that might be a good test. Thanks rtcvb32, probably the best suggestion.
This is a case where you may actually be better off using Steam, since you can download and play the title for 2 hours (max) and still refund it no questions asked (within 2 weeks).

Just don't make it too regular a habit of 'testing' games that way or they might flag you for abuse.

Thanks. Yeah I've been mostly RTS/RPG/MMO the last 10 years because of the problem. Every now and then something I really want to try comes out and I give it a whirl then regret it. Even if my stomach (and brain) could handle a 1st Person Shooter these days I'd probably only play the single player because my twitch reflex is long dead too.

I guess I could use Steam, but to be honest I'd rather not support games with DRM. I like GOG for the really simple reason that they don't treat customers like thieves. I'd much rather keep supporting a company with the right attitude than a company with the wrong one.

You don't have to keep the game on Steam. If you see a game on GOG that you want to play, then get the game on Steam, play it, and if it makes you sick then get a refund and don't buy it on GOG. If it doesn't make you sick, then refund the game on Steam anyway and buy the game on GOG. Just don't do it too much in too short of a timespan or you could be flagged for abuse.

Probably a good idea but I wouldn't feel right about doing it. I'll just stick with the idea of watching play thrus and hope that's enough to identity problematic games before I buy them.
