Hello,

With the upcoming new DLC for Witcher 3 i plan to start a fresh game. I would like to also enable ingame popups(for achievements).
By the time this option was added i already finished the game with ~70% of the achievements done.
So could any of you help me out with my current predicament?

PS: i already contacted support, they replied with "Unfortunately we're unable to reset achievements for any GOG games" and the option to buy the game again (+expansion pass) on a new account isn't something i'm very keen on doing.

It's impossible.
Apparently, Achievements are like losing one's virginity.

Can't doctors perform a he-man reconstruction or something? :P
Why?

Smannesman: Why?
I already said. I just want a fresh start and mainly to see and experience those ingame popupsfor achievements.
I know it's silly but to my current knowledge W3 is the only game that has this option for Galaxy.
Also this option was added much later and in a way i feel cheated out of this experience.
As far as I can remember achievements were stored locally in one of .db files (ProgramData/Application Data/GOG.com/Galaxy/s). If you're desperate enough, you may find out which file it was, delete unlocked achievements and play The Witcher offline. That could work, in theory ; )

The Galaxy overlay works in Strife, so it has in-game pop-ups for achievements, and notifications when friends send messages.

Also, someone made a Galaxy wishlist entry for this topic:

You specifically want the client to display achievement pop-ups during such a highly cinematic and immersive experience as Witcher 3? That's generally the first thing I turn off.

Still, it's weird they don't grant you control over your achievement data. Can't be that hard to allow you to reset your achievements for a specific game. Another reason why I prefer achievement/challenge systems built directly into the game, instead of being dependent on some client and cloud storage.
There are no achievements, your just bashing them keys much like millions of others, waiting for the void.

The achievement pill!
It's a way to relax or pass the time. It only becomes a problem when you do it at the expense of other, more productive, things.
PS: Relax m8, as far as i know GoG does not echo.
I might sound ancient and old fashioned but in the past there was no internet for the common people like it is today, so no online , no achievements, thats why i dont care for achievements or any other online 'showing of' high scores or number of levels passed in a game.

When i win during a game i always celebrate 'silently,' i will cheer and say " yes" in private in my little room :D

You are old and wrong.
I don't want to brag with my highscore, because if i wanted that why would i ask for a reset? makes no sense.
It's not a matter of winning or finishing the game, it's just a matter of a way to experience something or to have a way to reset and repeat said experience.
Think of it this way, wouldn't you like to have a way to forget your favorite movie and to be able to see it again?

What mike_cesara says is true,if you are careful you can find the correct file and delete.I remember doing a similar thing in an other game, what I did was copy a file to docs and work thru them until I found a solution.
Well, me might be old but most of us don't give a sheep about some immersive breaking pinky pop-ups. The whole idea sounds ridiculous and I don't think any of elders of the galaxy will dig it up more for you. You already got your more and less official answer, the audience is over.
