In Spelunky you can set in the options whether to rescue a girl, a guy or a dog. Every game should have that. It´s all in the options and sliders. Heed my advice, developers, and give us sliders for everything.
Can you give some examples what's sexist, misogynist etc. in your view?
Are games totally without women (like the Stalker games, not a single woman in them) misogynist?
This topic is becoming a little trite, if you want my opinion.

Sexism is over. We now have strong female characters.

Though, to be fair, we've had them since the 80s.

tinyE: I always thought Paul and Vince were out to rescue each other, and hold each other tight, by the campfire, after a long day of killing baddies.

Seriously, LOOK at those guys! :P

Oh sure, Paul is acting like he checking to his left for the enemy, but he's really just sneaking a peak at Vince.
You do realize that that picture has visible nipples?

Just checking.

It was a joke.
I didn't mean it as a serious political or social statement.
Now I think about it, it does sound pretty crazy. All those heroes risking life and limb for some princess they've never even met. How do they even know they'll like her... unless they're really just doing it for the reward and pretending to be chivalrous ;)
Saving the princess.

The princess has kidnapped the dragon! Please, hero, slay the princess and rescue the dragon!

(Well, maybe "slay the princess" might not be the best idea, unless, perhaps, this princess is somehow very evil or possessed by an evill spirit. Or, maybe, this is a game where you play as the bad guys (and the game makes no attempt to make them out to be the heroes of the story).)
Male gamers get to save the princess, while women get to watch the typical male on TV sitcoms portrayed as - at best - a bumbling idiot.

So how about you don't mess with our occasional rescue-the-wimmins gaming plots and we don't gripe about your "These men are so much dumber than us!" tropes on TV?
