I'd like to hope for a GOG+WB deal over NOLF, but 'they're not looking to [...] publish the game themselves at this time' would be a... disingenuous thing for WB to tell ND if they are, in fact, planning to publish the game at any later time.

This is bloody unfortunate as I can't get sound effects to work in NOLF2. Just the music. A GOG release would have undoubtedly fixed that.

I've won a bunch of legal disputes against such lawyers without going to court, or going out of pocket (specifically against larger than I, American, corporate entertainment setups - and no, i wont or cannot share the details of them) without the need for a lawyer. Usually because the lawyer at the other end gets confused by the fact I'm a UK citizen and the legal implications on thier part as a result.

I reckon Night Dive could setup / register a UK office for such reasons (my shed is available) without the ned to physically be here. Bit like GOG with Cyprus.
