rtcvb32: I have 800+ games here. It wasn't very hard. And this was 3+ years ago.
Sorry for not being clear....I meant people should DL them as they buy them and archive such, that way they don't have to DL massive amounts all at once.
rtcvb32: All i want is common dependencies to be separated and not included with the game installer.
They cannot do that, though(afaik), if they want to maintain their "works out of the box"(for most people) promise.
Also seeing as they aren't included with every game and the dependencies are small/many have unlimited DLs/fast speeds I don't see why this would be a big problem for most(though I can see why it'd be annoying for some).
rtcvb32: Also dependencies for games that forget them and re-finalizing the installer isn't possible (
i know a game or two that requires special external libs to work).
Which ones?
rtcvb32: If i can i like removing redundancies as much as possible. It may seem like a small amount, but after a while you see multiple gigs of space saved. When you can save multiple DVD's worth of space, it really needs considering.
Multiple gigs, yes, but on drives that can be many
TB in size.....unless someone has metered internet or very limited space it shouldn't be much of a problem(space wise).
(Although I can understand the desire to control such on one's system)
