It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

MarkoH01: I also had troubles to understand how people can get annoyed by needing to scroll a bit - but that's just my personal opinion. ;)

Lazarus_03: It's not just scrolling.
I've been always sitting at 50 topics per page, but nowadays — threads with less traffic tends to get kicked to the second page in just 8hrs or less.
And this wasn't because of the number of newly created topics (50 is usually more than enough room within this time frame for GOG), but because of the increasing amount of the forum games — which had a sudden spike due to something already outlined by one of the post here.

I don't often find myself needing to dig the second page to find topics I have missed within the said amount of time, however, that doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

Of course, if it gets really annoying, I could just have a separate tab for the second page. All I'm saying is, it does have a noticeable impact — to me at least.

I'm not wishing those topics purged; the idea to separate or user-hide the threads seems reasonable.
Ah, okay. Sounds reasonable to me. That brings us back to the idea of a certain subforum which unfortunately won't happen anytime soon since we are talking about GOG. Thank you for taking the time to explain your experience.

Here you can vote for it:
www.gog.com/wishlist/site/ability_to_hide_forum_topics

not that gog watches these wishes or would actually implement them...

I agree and even voted for your hide button

But you need to calm down, just add these topics to favourites and ignore them until it's implemented and stop "spamming" yourself, jeez

I see those no-lifer forum "gamers" have a new game - to downvote any dissident posts here.

Yup they exploit the rep system.
Providing you don't use the favourite thread functionality, it is actually in your power to hide the game threads already.

1. Mark all of the game threads as favourites.
2. Install the Adalia Fundamentals script
3. Use the new ability to collapse the favourite threads section.

I admit it is somewhat of a perverse solution, in that you have to endorse the horrible threads as your favourites before you can get rid of them. Still, you can take action today and not wait for forum "improvements".

Should the loss of favourites be too great a burden, a custom userscript could be written to parse the topic list and blacklist any forum game topic.

They don't downvote you because you are bad. They downvote you because you are a Renegade. Embrace it!

Yeah, I've thought about that/advised, but I've already have some fav topics which I like to visit.
Thanks for the info about the script I didn't know there is such a thing, maybe I'll try it out.

Don't think I'm a renegade. I just have different opinions than them and they aren't mature enough to tolerate others.
I wish them the best and hope one day they will grow up and enjoy the open-minded experience that different views can give.

No support. There's no reason why these forum games can't be on here. I understand the idea of maybe creating a board for forum games specifically but without them, the General Discussions forum wouldn't be nearly as active.

Have you read the edit part? Which asks for a hide feature and would be completely optional.
Maybe the activity would be less , but hopefully more meaningful.
The funny thing is that some of the forum games are already around for a longer time than Orkhepaj (and certainly much longer than him/her as an active forum member). Word Association Game started in June 2011, Just Three Words in November 2008 and What is this Game? in January 2009.

As I said before, I agree with your proposal for the ability of users to hide topics. What I don't agree with is that forum games are meaningless - on the contrary, in my opinion they are actually crucial for the "health" of this forums.

At least half of them are also quite educational, if you took a minute to actually check them out.
