idbeholdME: Basically what you said.
Yeah, but I guess I didn't really clearly explain what I meant either. So it's a good thing you mentioned it again.

idbeholdME: The easiest solution would be if the forums allowed us to hide threads in the same way we can favorite some of them. Would make everyone happy, but asking a new feature to be introduced to GOG forums is in the realm of the impossible.

Not gonna lie though, I would definitely welcome that option as the number of these perpetual forum game/spam threads seems to be constantly increasing over the years.
That would be the best solution. Yes there are way too many of those threads. Some like them, I hate them.
This solution would be good for both parties.

Orkhepaj: It doesn't show popularity, it shows those topics are constantly bumped to the top.
Your trolling serves no purpose, so please leave.

NuffCatnip: By 'bumping' you mean posting, which shows how interested people are in a thread.

Buuut, I have better things to do than post here anymore. I'm going back to play some Persona 5. :)

Oh, btw today Trivium released their new album, here's a the song What The Dead Men Say .
Most of the posts in them are made by 3-4 users. Every 3rd post is Hooyaah's.

ELFswe: Well, General should be for general suff that is GoG related. Though I am not against those that want to write in the "game" threads. But instead of having them in General, there could be a offtopic subforum so that they don't clutter the general part of the forum.
I agree with that , this will be best solution for that

let people do what they want but just make proper section for that..

I request a subforum for threads requesting subforums!

Sorry, but I doubt this is a good idea. You start with those few topics getting a subforum, there will be no end to it.
There will be 10 to 20 subforums some empty, some crowded like the General Discussion is now. GOG will need more personell to keep checking every new topic is in its subforum. Or maybe volunteers will do it. 1 to 5 volunteers, they will have different opionions on things, the whole forum will suffer. This won't end well, I'm absolutely sure.

I prefer the possibilities to tag threads like you tag your games. Favourite (like now) ignore (hidden threads), and other tags to make your own subforums like "chain threads" / "giveaways" / "hardware" / "galaxy" / whatever.
But I want to do this myself. And it's just those 10 - 20 recurring threads you have to sort yourself. Once.
After that you see every new thread without having to click through all those subforums. And you will never see the other threads again.

I agree these forum games are dumb.

+1 for removal.

I think everyone should delete their accounts, to make sure the forum is kept nice and clean.

My bad, General Discussion must be for discussing Generals then.

Anyone here enjoy Christopher Plummer's depiction of General Chang in Star Trek VI? I found it a rather refreshing take on the usual Klingon characters up until then.

Yeah, I think yogsloth is being opportunistic and just going after low hanging fruit.
