Regrettably, I backed this on Kickstarter.

I backed a DRM-free Linux game. Three years later, I've got a partially finished DRM-only, online-only, Windows only game.

Those are more than enough, for that occasional ARPG hack&slash fix! Top choices, the both of them!

Except that is not how commerce and retail distribution works. Refunds would either partially or completely be on GOG dependent on their contract with Wolcen.

With Diablo, Sacred 1 & 2, Torchlight 1 & 2, Titan Quest and Grim Dawn as well as ome others here there is plenty of good ARPG. And games like Grim Dawn we continue to get expansions for.

Yes but the developer lied to all who kickstarted the game and all who bought in-dev unfinished game. I care not about their change of direction! I demand finished DRM-free game here on GOG.com. In our defense GOG will need to go after Wolcen Studio for all damages. Also Wolcen Studio needs to refund all the kickstarter payments to all Persons affected by this ill conceived change unknowingly or knowingly prior.

I know you can't oficially say the truth because it would reflect bad on Gog for shaming crappy devs, so let me run this through a de-BSfier:

"Those hacks behind Wolcen couldn't be arsed with updating the game many of you paid for and they think our customers are second class compared to other stores's customers. So we called them out on it and they decided they would rather just cut any future profit from Gog and get away with their current loot. We can't recover what they already took but we can keep them from fooling more of our customers so we're booting out their garbage. We wish we had never invited these assholes in here. Good riddance."

I'm pretty sure when games get refunded, that comes out of the publisher's pie. I could be wrong though, but thanks for sticking up for GOG :)

I think they might currently be figuring out whether or not they CAN refund us. Been two days and I haven't heard anything yet, and I'm unlikely to hear anything over the weekend.

It's very whiteknight of you to try to make me feel bad for wanting to return an unfinished game, but as a consumer I expected something different from what I got.

I've just submitted a refund request (refund to gog valet) and I hope GOG team will approve it.
Seems wrong to treat one platform users as second sort ones. I'm glad GOG was the first to post smth officially regarding abandoning the game by devs.

hmmm interesting. i've sent gog a request to park my car too :P

And this is why I usually avoid in-dev titles, and even most indie titles in the first 1-2 years. I rather wait a few years than have incomplete/unfixed games.

I do not like the sound ot this at all. I backed UMBRA/Wolcen early and only because the devs said the Game would be DRM free. I do not care about having to wait even longer (Devlivery 2016?!?!?) but I absolutely disagree if the devs will not uphold the promise to deliver as they said! As a consequnce I contacted them and now am curious to hear from them in return.
