This site seems to have lost it's focus on what made it popular. Good Old Games.

You can't even view games based on release date anymore. In their pursuit of the almighty dollar and constant growth, they have abandoned why we all came to them in the first place.

IMO, GoG needs to split. Launch a modern/steam clone site, but revert GOG back to what it is supposed to be.

Was fun while it lasted....
A few years late on this, also you can sort by "Oldest First" to look at the primarily classic/Retro games.

By the way you should change the title of this as right now GOG is GOG not Good Old Games.

what i remember is exactly the same topic from a month ago
Too late for that. GOG has been GOG more years than it has been Good Old Games.

New games are welcome ever so often.. But let me ask what you see as Old games? I ask as I see ''new games'' as from atleast 15 years back as ''new'' for my standards in what is 'new'' in games. But in new new as in rather recent I think is what you mean.. Anyway Where as other people see games as old games after 10 years some others see games as old after 5 years of no added content on a regular basis.. Thus it depends on a persons view of things.. in this case
They just released a good old game 2 hours ago, so i don't think they stopped with that.

It was Thursday two days ago, too?

Anyway, GOG stopped being Good Old Games in 2012 or something. We still get old games but I don't think they appeal to most of the users. Maybe I'm wrong. I think a lot of those are older than most of the customers. Would be interested in knowing how many of us actually remember games before achievements existed.

What are achievements?

(actually, I do know what achievements are, I just turn them off if I'm unfortunate enough to be playing a game through a client. I sincerely believe they're one of the worst things to happen to PC Gaming)

Just speak for yourself.

I came here back in 2011 for DRM-free The Witcher 1 and 2.

Also nowadays the GOG releases that make me the most excited are a few (2-12) years old AAA game releases, hopefully with all their DLCs etc. included in one complete pack. Games like:
Sleeping Dogs
THI4F
Control
BioShock series
Dishonored series
etc. etc., and even newer games like Mechwarrior 5 and of course Cyberpunk 2077.

Older classics are nice too, but at this point they are more like a nice plus to me, rather than something I'd eagerly buy and play.

Agreed I wonder that too as I see so many people on G.O.G and other sites asking where achievements are for games long before achievements was a thing.. I also see far too many seeing games as ''trash'' if they don't have achievements.. I am like''the heck'' when I see those statements as its like they either wasn't around much before that or they are addicted to the rush of getting achievements. Personally I don't care for achievements but that can be nice if they are linked to say getting a whole set of different kinds of armor or even just linked to finishing the game things that either a decement amount of people love doing or something as icing on the cake like finishing the game
It's pretty much the same. Old games are still there.
