Remember me, special dreams.

Ys: Memories of Celceta is now available DRM-free on GOG.com, 10% off until August 1st, 5pm UTC.
The Great Forest of Celceta still lies untamed, unchallenged. Teeming with strange creatures and well-kept secrets, it can only be conquered by an intrepid adventurer like Adol Christin. Determined to reclaim the memories that were stolen from him the first time he ventured into the unmapped wilderness, he will now return with the enigmatic thief Duren by his side.
This is the definitive edition of the ambitious action/RPG that first appeared on the PS Vita, enhanced and refined for its PC debut to make for an essential Ys experience that expands the series lore in fascinating ways.
Bought with Shining Song Starnova!
*happy dance*
Thank you GOG ^___^
Definitely getting this, but not today. Darksiders 3 drained my gaming budget somewhat...
Looks great going on the wishlist for now since I broke the piggy bank.
Aaaaaaaaaaaand bought. Reasonable price? What the hell? Thanks GOG / Falcom / XSEED. :)

Damn, I thought I had more time until it's released.
And there are those other games released too (admit it, you waited just until my last exam this month was over so I have nothing to distract me from my urge to buy all of them).
So what is the order of the Ys games? Any pointers? Is this one really playable on its own? (references etc.)
Meh, no other Ys game to look forward to. I hope that it won't take Falcom too long to develop Ys IX/Ys V remake/Ys spinoff.

I'm not sure abouth the order either, but I can say that it can be played on its own.
You won't miss out much if you didn't play the others aside from a few minor references and in some Ys games reappering characters.

Pretty much all Ys games are perfectly playable on their own. Sure, there might be one cameo/reference or two, but nothing too important. Still, if you want some chronological order of sorts, take a look at Terpor's post:

For the most part, order doesn't matter since they're self contained adventures, sans a few references here or there. The only ones I would do in a specific order are 1 > 2 > Origin.

Gameplay-wise, for the ones here, the release order is: 1 & 2, VI, OiF, Origin, Seven, this game, VIII

Numerical order-wise (Based on their original releases): Origin, 1 & 2, OiF (Remake of III), this game (Remake of IV), VI, Seven, VIII

Chronological order-wise (Based on the in-game time): Origin, 1 & 2, this game, OiF, V (SNES, not on here), VIII, VI, Seven.

For the ones on here, I'd recommend gameplay-wise so that way you don't have to go back to older games after newer ones.
Bought. Thank you! Almost done with VIII and will start playing this one right after.
Time for a replay in full HD. Thanks !
