After XCom 2 I rather hoped for something like Terror from the Deep as I thought it was hinted at in the outro.
Oh well, I wishlist it for now.
A new game from 2K? Hell must be really cold today. We'll know it's frozen over when Civ5, 6, Rev1+2, etc, arrive.
Excerpt from Firekracker's review over on the store page:

"The story starts with a promising concept (baddies from XCOM 2 leave, leaving hybrids and the problem of integrating them behind) but falls flat in the execution with a completely predictable "baddies want to kill all nonhumans, let's stop them with the power of friendship" narrative. The characters are now center of the story (so there now is no permadeath), terribly one-dimensional because they are exclusively defined by two or three character traits each, and especially the dialogue is just cringy. It's clear that someone tried to recreate colonial marines from Aliens, but didn't understand their social dynamic and just created Mean Girls with guns."
Instabuy guys, thank you :)
This was a great game. Not xcom great but still great. I wish 2k would make more of these (not quite xcom but kinda-xcom) games and expand and test out different types of gameplay.

Production value for this was lower and it was probably a lot cheaper to implement but do more! Can't ever get enough xcom!

Chimera Squad was always meant as an experimental spin-off rather than a mainline replacement. I would be surprised if a proper XCOM 3 was not in the pipeline.

I assume this showed up basically just because of low sales on Steam but I am glad it did show up

Thank you for pointing this out. This is all we get on GoG these days. What about all newer version of the mafias we already own. What about Days Gone and so much more. But mostly, the 2k games. I just don't understand how the decisions are made in this place. GoG have basically become the Gutter Trash for turned-based games.

besides the fact that devs and pubs are scared of DRM-free, there's not much money to be made here compared to Steam.

But on the bright side, I asked on Reddit about the lack of "AAA" games and most people didn't seem to mind the lack of "AAA" games consistently coming here.
