Aliens, do you bleed? You will.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown Complete Pack is now available, 80% off until June 18, 10 PM UTC, DRM-free on GOG.com. It contains every piece of content released for the game, including the Enemy Within expansion.
They thought we'd go down without a fight. They were wrong. Also quite ugly.
Commander, the XCOM initiative stands ready. Train and customize your elite squad, research human or alien technology, and take Earth back through turn-based tactical action, and smart base management.

For some heavily discounted old-school X-COM goodness, check out our Summer Sale.
Very cool. While I already have the whole package on Steam already, I'm very likely to buy myself a GOG copy. :) That's one of the rare double-dips for me when I consider a game so good - most others don't even come close to meeting that threshold - it's worth unshackling it from Steam. ;)

With this release, I'm even more crossing my fingers for the eventual Bioshock releases here.

It seems this runs on WINE.

Cusith: Then it defaults to Windows I'm basing this on something I read about how sales are noted on Steam basically I think it was that if you didn't download the Linux version and play it within a certain period it was classed as a Windows sale

mike_cesara: Sound at least bizarre to be honest.. There are still games I've never downloaded.

GOG: Can we have an official statement regarding this matter?

edit:
Has to be different on GOG, they have no ability to know what and when I'm playing unless I want to.
I'm pretty sure there was a thread here asking/discussing how GOG noted platform sales that received zero blue comment.

I don't see why it needs to be different here how do we know that GOG even informs people of sales by platform. They may just say number of sales that is after all all they can really do. They may provide number of downloads by platform but again that's pretty meaningless. Getting the OS from the browser isn't perfect in a number of ways. The only time that GOG would need platform sales numbers is to satisfy contracts like I'm talking about and if they have no means to do so then well there's your reason for Feral never coming here.
Oh, great, XCOM. I've been waiting for this forever.
Now to wait for the Linux version, so I can actually buy it.
Good Old Game!
Well this came out of nowhere! Hell yes!

GOG has to be aware about numbers since they're keep adding Linux versions. Sure, not as many as we'd like to see but still better than nothing. And we also have kind of official threads.
On the other hand, it seems like there is still not enough hands to test those versions. Add to that all this licensing crap and latest Apple OpenGL move and we're about to be doomed.. Unless whole OSX gaming community will switch to Linux ; p
Holy SHIT, Just when I thought I was done with the sales, gog pulls me right...Back...In!

Can't wait to put yet another former steam game game into the de-steamed pile!

EDITED: Bought, now I have the entire XCom collection, sans Xcom 2!

Is this mod working with GOG.com version ?

i_hope_you_rot: The Shitlands series are boring .
Probably, but somebody likes them.

FutureSuture: Are you for real? (..)

mike_cesara: Depends on the part of my post ; )
For me, it is Feral's fault they aren't here since the very first day. Perhaps next time they will be quicker with their decisions? Or not bother at all, so do I. Why should I plead anyone to take my money? Sounds ridiculous, isn't it?
Nothing to talk about, my money, my decisions. And don't you worry, I can manage without Feral's port : )

Lodium: What do you mean by DRM apocalypse ?
avatar
mike_cesara: Just take a peek around the forum, you will find plenty of posts about incoming DRM to GOG.
Signs are everywhere, like the Big Blue Button in your very own library ; ))
Well, i dont read the forums much.
And i cant really see this big blue button. I can see a small one for some games. But that has been there a while for games that are updated and its not for all games. I dont really see the danger letting me know what games are updated with the latest patch or something. Unless there some other blue button i havent discovered yet.
Looks like I missed all the drama. What's the story with the Linux version? Did Feral mess it up and refused to release on GOG?

tremere110: You will likely wait a very long time for a Linux release if it ever materializes at all. Feral interactive doesn't seem to have any of their ports on GoG. An email I sent them a while back made it clear they knew what GoG is but didn't want anything to do with them (GoG). Maybe they changed their mind but I'm not hopeful.
Do you still have that e-mail? If yes, can you please post it in this thread:

Feral's attitude towards DRM-free releases?

Thanks!

Nothing really serious. I have bought the game without waiting for Feral's decision about their Linux port here and this somehow triggered some emotions ; p

Well, I'm interested in their previous answers for the record.
