The X games - X Gold, X2: The Thread, X3: Reunion & X3: Terran War Pack - are a series of some of the most ambitious and sophisticated space-roaming simulators ever created. This is no exaggeration.

The universe is a vast, ruthless place, a true final frontier, where the strong and cunning prosper while the weak are eaten up alive without mercy. But do you have the guile and determination to make it?
The X Series are true sandboxes - you are in charge of your destiny from the second you leave the hangar for the first time, until the moment you deem yourself satisfied with your galactic conquest.

Even though the complexity may be overwhelming to newcomers, the rewards are incredible: in the X Series you can do whatever you want. Become a roaming mercenary - go from nimble fighters to hulking destroyers, join one of the many factions in war, build and maintain a massive trading empire from rags to riches, even own your own trading posts and facilities. The possibilities are incredible.

You can now grab the entire series at up to 75% off in the Classic X Pack during the Big Fall Promo!

Trade, Fight, Build, Think in X Gold, X2: The Threat, X3: Reunion & X3: Terran War Pack, available now, DRM-free on GOG.com

real.geizterfahr: : There's GOG's (almost) empty "Reclaim Your Game" page and Egosoft allowed Superbox owners to do exactly this on Steam. I don't want to "waste" €11.46 just to see that I can redeem my Superbox here with a free copy of Albion Prelude a few weeks later.
Isn't that "reclaim your game" section dead already? "Coming soon , last updated 1st April 2015."
By the way, my all time favorite soundtrack of the series: Home of the gates.

Enjoy!
This is certainly a good way to wake up and check the deals... A series i was interested in and just waiting to come here :)
How well do these games play with mouse and keyboard? Only I don't have a joystick and even if I did I don't have the desk space to use one effectively.

I played through Freespace 1+2 with mouse and keyboard and they played quite well - well enough for me to finish them, anyway. But the X-Wing and TIE Fighter games (the Windows versions, anyway) require a game controller device for which I used a 360 Controller, which worked, but it wasn't as precise as a joystick would be. So how do the X games compare?
Price of the bundle seems to be corrected, X2 discounted price changed from $2,49 (58%) to $1,49 (75%).

I played X3 Terran Conflict with a keyboard and mouse just fine although I would recommend binding your keys to where you're comfortable with everything as there are a lot of keys :)

X BTF plays best with a joystick. Not sure about X-Tension. From X2 on mouse flight control got added and joystick is strictly optional.

I have a saitek evo but found the games easiest with keyboard only. I have everything literally at my fingertips.
I'm not sure if it's been mentioned but you can get rolling demos/benchmarks for some of the games from the devs site to see how it looks. Unfortunately some of the playable demos have drm on them. I heard the TC demo doesn't have it so here is the link.

Spectre: What's the difference between X3: Reunion and X3: Terran War Pack. Someone mentioned the story but is there any other important differences?

Also does the window still stay stuck if you use windowed mode?
avatar
Goldbrand: Hi Spectre.

Terran War Pack is a standalone expansion to Reunion. There are more ships and the Terran faction is in the game. The storyline is a follow-up to the end of Reunion's 1p campaign.

Regards.

Themken: Also remade user interface and other things
Thanks I'll look into it.

I would also recommend getting a gamepad configuration program as the setup doesn't seem to let you rebind everything.

Niggles: Hows the single player story? (dumb question but how is mouse/keyboard vs gamepad etc with these games?)
There is only single player. There is a story arch spanning all games, but it's mostly go there do that types of missions. Mouse and keyboard support is really good at least from x2 and up. I have no idea about gamepad as i've only recently acquired one and haven't tried it in these games.

Wait.. WT?

I hope they're going to credit us that bought at the higher "incorrect" price. Store credit would be fine.

GOG?

Lemon_Curry: On a related note, I just voted for Tachyon: The Fringe.
Hail to the king baby!
I bought that off Steam a few sales back, despite still having the CD here, and finally got around to completing it again last week. Still a great game.
I play X3:TC with keyboard only (rarelly using mouse if at all) and it plays perfectly!

I'll try using a gamepad (wireless x360 windows version) but I hadn't feel the need for it yet.

Since I don't abuse military missions, I don't really need it.
Thank you GOG team! I love this series and X2 was my favorite pc game for years. Thank you so much for bringing it to your store!
Well, I've payed 11.46€ for the pack and now it's at 10.56€, won't there be a credit?
