The latest addition to the X4 universe is now available on GOG – X4: Timelines!

This expansion to the sci-fi simulator X4: Foundations will not only introduce new players to X4's core gameplay mechanics, but also delight long-serving space adventurers.

It offers a thrilling new storyline which takes place outside of the X4 sandbox, where colossal challenges and unexpected excursions into the depths of the X series lore and history await.

Moreover, in the new X4: Timelines storyline, you’ll find a wide range of scenarios in which you will experience the many different aspects of X4 gameplay. Playing these scenarios will also unlock new missions within the X4: Timelines storyline, and bonuses for your wider X4 sandbox universe – among them reimagined, classic ships from X universe history.

You can now also get X4: Discovery Pack, which includes both the base game and newest DLC.

Check out what is it all about and get X4: Timelines now!
Uhhh, I think you removed the base game from sale - all I see is the Community of Planets edition (which already includes X4: Timelines).

Yeah, I wishlisted community of planets this morning because the price was 30-something into next week, but now it's back to $99.

Also the X4 Foundations page doesn't seem to exist anymore.
Well… the Timelines page in German indicates that it is standalone. And the basket warning links to the deleted game.
Looking at the Steam page, it looks like the Discovery pack is now the base game (includes Foundations and Timelines). This is just a very weird way of handling things. I'm not sure what the purpose or business strategy behind this is.

Well Timelines is supposed to be the beginner's tutorial campaign, so I guess it's so new players don't quit in frustration before buying all the other DLCs.
Great, it's great that it's here now. Egosoft is one of my favorite development studios.

Really loved X2. I should make the time at some point to play their later games, even though they are a significant time investment.

Indeed it is, but it's worth it. :D

Same pretty much, played X2 to death and then some. I switched to X3 for a short while, but it turned out to be too demanding for my computer back then, so went back to 2. I think the only thing that stops me from trying 4 is that I suffer a bit of a burnout after 2, and I'm not sure I have it in me to give it all the time it would require (if experience with 2 is anything to go by).
Wait, where did X4 Foundations go?

Delisted. Not really clear if by mistake or deliberately, but going by #5 probably deliberately.

Isn't that the Discovery Pack after you go to "standard" on the choice of edition dropdown?

EDIT: The link to Foundations now works properly. The one to Discovery Pack however is the one unavailable now.

Now Foundations isn't a link anymore in the first post.

Seems Discovery is the only way to get the base game now - X4: Discovery Pack (X4: Foundations + X4: Timelines). The storepage also contains the dropdown to select your desired edition (Standard / Community of Planets / CoP Collector's). Which is... odd choice, but alright.
