There's priests & rogues too!

Wizards & Warriors is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com.
The cult classic, Wizardry-like first-person RPG, returns. Wanna be an elephantoid Omphaaz, a feline Whiskah (night vision baby) or a boring human? Form a six-person team, then roam the land of Gael Cerran searching for an evil that's been going unchecked for too long and maybe lost treasure as well. Set those dungeons ablaze with magic and a mix of real-time and turn-based combat. Like old times.

trusteft: What does real time TIME has to do with a TURN BASED battle? Are you saying that while the AI is taking it's turn you can move? That sounds like real time battle, or at best a hybrid. Not pure turn based combat. The whole idea of turn based combat is that you play, then the other player (AI) plays. Not you move and avoid the attacks the other player performs.
Anyway, thanks for your replies.

SirHandsome: Yes, its more like a hybrid. The fighting is turn based but you can move at any time.
Thank you.

I've been waiting forever for this one! Works great out of the box so far and I have not experienced any bug issues using Windows 10 v1803.

INSTANT BUY! RIP LIFE FOR A FEW WEEKS!

Couldn't believe it when I saw this released here. I already purchased it. For some reason though there isn't a Wizards & Warriors forum for the game, or I'm having trouble locating it. Anyone running Windows 7 encounter any issues with the game--ingame movies not playing, mouse issues, crashing, etc? I haven't had a chance to play it yet.

Dear GOG, please apply discount for Wizards & Warriors...
It seems that the game has not a proper forum

And I encountered a strange glitch the first time I ran the game. I created my party and they already had a couple of quests in the journal log.
The problem is that the animation where the old man gives you that quest was not triggered, and the other one was one in the tavern which is launched if you pay the bartender. Also not triggered.

I reset the game. The party except the money is kept, and then, there is, the voiced quest animation launches correctly this time.

I don´t know if it is a bug, a windows 7 glitch or if gog is aware of it. I was fear that the game was in a worse state than my old copy, but for now the game seems to run well, excepting some mouse lag.

Mouse issues a lot of people are complaining about (myself included)... the video thing, did you get a pop up when the game was first run that you needed to install DirectShow? Could be why the videos are not playing if it wasn't installed
For those which have mouse problem

Yeah, from my past experience with this (otherwise wonderful, if overlooked) game, is was a bitch to get it to work some years ago. Not really surprised people have problems now, although I definitely expected GOG to try to fix the most blatant issues. Gonna wait for a bit before I buy this, at least until the worst stuff is sorted.
WOOOOOOOOOH!
Edit: Maybe this is one of the late GOG10thAnniversaryCelebrations... :D

It's workd on win10 too!!
Thank you sooooo much!
I was so happy when I saw that the game was finally available on GOG. It was an instabuy for me but my initial enthusiasm quickly evaporated after running the game and starting a new game.

First of all, the game started in 16:9 instead of 4:3 so the graphics got stretched. This issue "fixed itself" by changing the resolution ingame and restarting the game.

Mouse movement is jaggy and laggy. When can we expect a proper fix for that? (I read the workaround someone came up with but it messes up generic mouse settings in windows just to fix one game)

Also, why is there no game specific forum topic for this game?

Sorry if I sound a bit negative, maybe it's because I was so hyped when the game got released.
Very happy to see this game here. Just about to install it now. Keeping my fingers crossed that it will run fine on my laptop.
The mouse issue is something made me let down the game in the past. It was too unconfortable for relatively long sessions. it is a pity because the rest of the gog version runs fine in modern windows out of the box.

Did anyone had issues with character models changed to something they aren't? Like elephant-men as lizards, or everyone being the generic human no matter which race is picked for the first two characters? This and the mouse error don't give this release a good impression.
Oh wow, we actually got a classic this week! I didn't catch this at first.
