There's priests & rogues too!

Wizards & Warriors is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com.
The cult classic, Wizardry-like first-person RPG, returns. Wanna be an elephantoid Omphaaz, a feline Whiskah (night vision baby) or a boring human? Form a six-person team, then roam the land of Gael Cerran searching for an evil that's been going unchecked for too long and maybe lost treasure as well. Set those dungeons ablaze with magic and a mix of real-time and turn-based combat. Like old times.

Kakarot96: Are you all on Windows 10, then? maybe it's something specific to that OS, something that would not be a surprise, anyway lol

Mawthra: Yah, I'm on Windows 10... not sure if it's the OS or what... have the game set to 1024x768 D3D... could be my hi refresh rate display or high resolution mouse? No idea, but... won't be able to play it till it get sorted out, cause it's maddening trying to use it like this
Try reducing the screen resolution to see if it fixes the problem
Ok I can't be the one here seeing that name and wondering where Kuros is?

Also on Windows 10. I tried software mode and all D3D resolutions, but that didn't help. Oh, and I only have a 60hz screen so yours is probably not causing this.

Edit:
Decreasing the polling rate of my mouse has significantly improved the dead zone problem. At 125 it's still not perfect, but I COULD play the game. Unfortunately I'm not able to go lower, at least not the crappy control centre of my mouse.

Holy crap! Guess I don't need my CDs anymore.
What the heck?! The cult classic Wizards and Warriors is from the 1980's. It's certainly not the game being sold in the OP from the year 2000.
Awesome release! Thanks GOG team!

When you call yourself "Ancient" you certainly mean it ;-)

jacknozwad: mouse have problems for anyone else? mine seams to not move unless i REALLY move the mouse fast... makes clicking some things accurately kind of difficult. any ideas?
Yeah, but I just adjusted my mouse's DPI which helps somewhat... I'm hoping a patch or ini/config tricks will surface soon enough!
Awesome awesome awesome. Ive been wanting to play this for a long time! Started a game and feels like a nice mix of Wizardry and the 3d Might and Magics.
Okay, in the 80s there was a series of gamebooks called Wizards, Warriors & You. It was about a dozen and a half books long. My question is, is there any connection at all between this game and the above gamebook series?

Edited because somehow my text was duplicated.

guar: There are 3 town hubs. You're free to explore the areas surrounding each hub, but you're locked to that hub until you advance the plot.
avatar
dtgreene: Can you go back to earlier hubs?
Yes, once an area becomes available to you, it remains accessible.
I cant click on certain places in the towns, i remember this being a problem from the cd versions but I cant remember how to fix it?

There are unofficial patches availlable which fix some graphic issues and other stuff. Maybe this helps.
