timppu: How do I know if I am interested in World of Darkness, whatever that is?

Who am I kidding? I am buying this bundle anyway.
Did you even read the OP

Are these games mainly for die-hard World of Darkness fans, or will people who have no idea what it is like them too?

there is a Werewolf...demo. I could stand the 90s/Dave McKean graphics, but I was bored to death by the protagonist, and it's English only. Hard pass for me, but why don't you see for yourself? If you like classic horror themes like vampires and werewolves, tropes like someone going to discover their origins in the Old World because of recurring nightmares (a-la Gabriel Knight II, but this time it's Poland and not Germany), it could be your thing. It looks like a Choose Your Own Adventure kinda gameplay to what I've seen, so it's nothing like the WoD older games, and I don't see why you should necessarily be a fan of those to enjoy them. The only thing in common seems to be the same horror setting.

darktjm: Thanks to that, I am nearly certain this game won't work on Linux/ALSA without significant effort on my part, so I'll pass.
According to the game card it has Linux support. Is that wrong? Is the Linux version broken? Or does it require Pulse (which the game card does not mention as requirement)?

It is the same world where Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption and Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines are set . Same about Bllodlines 2. Bloodlines > Redemption, for me. Those games have been successful with people who did not know the tabletop RPG. The games explained the world well enough. So whoever played any of those, already knows the setting. Same about these new games, anyone can pick them up

The game uses FMOD, which is broken in a different way for ALSA in every Linux game I have which uses it, which means I don't have a workaround yet. I suspect that it works fine with PulseAudio, but not apulse, which is the only way I'm letting pa on my system. I would sooner try the Windows version, but I don't think this game is worth any additional effort on my part.
