Strike back against the Holy Empire.

Warrior Kings, a large-scale 3D RTS with a branching campaign, now DRM-free on GOG.com.

It is a time of ancient gods, warlords and kings. The Holy Empire is in turmoil. Reigned by a power-hungry Patriarch who wants to rule by any brutal means necessary, it will soon become the stage for full-scale war and desperate retribution. And you, as the wronged but righteous lord of a poorly treated fiefdom, will find yourself straight at the epicenter of the uprising that will shake the very foundations of the Empire.

The diverse philosophies of totalitarian theocracy, chaotic paganism and progressive enlightenment will clash in a spectacular and highly tactical fashion. Manage your troops and choose your own path to victory through the branching campaign of Warrior Kings that shifts along with your alignment. Worship the One God, cooperate with demons or harness the power of technology to rule the battlefield and lay siege to your enemies' settlements.

Weaponize your religious inclinations against other Warrior Kings, available now, DRM-free on GOG.com.
As an FYI this game works pretty well in WINE on my Mac (Wineskin with WS9Wine1.5.31X, with native Mac driver). Be sure to install quartz and devenum in Winetricks or the music won't work.
Published by Strategy First.... Hehe.... what a times

gamesfreak64: chrome also shows same and no content...
copyright shows 2012 so thats almost 4 years and no content on the site? unless they have gone broke.

i always check the developers cause most of the time they also have lots of other good games, which they apparently dont offer, kinda strange cause if a company is selling old game A, then why not sell all their old games?
The more games, the merrier :D , and more chances there be more different games for more users with different wishes, so the sales will benefit from that.

Matruchus: These are the games from Strategy First on gog: http://www.gog.com/games##search=strategy%20first&sort=bestselling&page=1

And as for the company they were owned by Silverstar holdings which if I understand online available data correctly closed down two years ago but websites from Strategy First and Magnolia broadband (Silverstar owned companies) are still online. It would be interesting to know who owns Strategy First today.
thanks for the reply, so they still 'exist' somewhere ? anyway the site didnt work for me so i guess they forgot to clean up the site and delete it :D after they were takenover or whatever might have happend to these guys.

Thanks for the info, even more as the game has no AppDB entry.

Do you also have gotten Warrior Kings: Battles meanwhile and have tried that under Wine? It seems to run under Crossover, but I don't know how much Crossover differs from Wine, so a confirmation for Wine compatibility would be nice.

Why does this game have widescreen support while Warrior Kings: Battles does not?

Probably how they were made. We didn't mess with anything regarding widescreen support or lack thereof :)
I have no sound... looked in the sub-forum and saw nothing about this.

I haven't actually started the game yet. Installed it, launched it, it _seemed_ to lock-up on the first screen (looked like a photo) but then it started. But no sound at all in the intro, or at the main menu. I checked the settings and sound is not muted.

Anyone else experiencing this?

EDIT: What I mean by having not actually started the game yet is that I launched it, but never went past the main menu to start a game because I had no sound.

Please send us your support ticket by following this link: https://www.gog.com/support/contact/technical_issues_with_games/warrior_kings and select "sound issues" from the drop down menu :)

Oh gee I didn't want to bother you guys with a support ticket, just thought I'd ask if anyone else saw this and maybe they could help.

I'd like to play around with it some more myself before I give up and send in a support ticket. Nothing against your support team, AT ALL, but I just don't want to add to their work if I can figure it out myself or find someone else who has.

I'll keep this link though in case I don't figure it out myself. Thank you.

Well, the link is there in case you can't get the sound to work :) I would perhaps start by installing/repairing Direct X 9.0c and see where that gets you :)

I've gotten GOG's version of Warrior Kings: Battles to work with a similar setup (WS9Wine1.7.51, no Mac driver, and both quartz and devenum installed in Winetricks). Both games are subject to bug 28203 but that can be circumvented through the aforementioned winetricks installs.

Hope that helps!

I've seen that bug too, but at least there's a workaround. Thank you for the confirmation!
Glad to see it. Already own a copy but I don't mind getting a gog copy when it goes on sale. Takes a lot of patience, I love how it came out.

Some major resemblance from rise of nations, they way they send out peasants to farm on a tiny scale.

I think you'd need a lot of patience to finish a game. Love the setting but never have the time, think I managed to get to mission 5 for all three paths.

I FIGURED IT OUT!!!!

Well, except I didn't. LOL.

I just started the game again to see what happened... and this time no lockup on that photo.... and the sound works great. I changed nothing, did nothing, just a different day... LOL

Computers... you gotta luv 'em... otherwise you'd go nucking futs figuring them out.

I mean I didn't do anything. I didn't reinstall it. I didn't change any of the compatibility settings, nothing. I merely started the game again today just to check again that there was not only no sound at the menu but none at the opening sequence (which is what locked up last time... see previous post). And just perfection. Just a different day and today it works and the other day it didn't. Anyone figures that out and they win the internets forever.
